Week 5 Review:

A League Standings:

8. Ram: 20-24-6

The standings continue to stay tightly packed. Only 2 games separate the 12th place team from the 6th place team.

Fuzzy 7, Paul 3- Fuzzy dominated the hitting categories, taking 4 out of 5 and was able to edge Paul on the pitching side too. The defending champ currently sits in a tie for 9th as Fuzzy inches closer to the top spot.

Chef 6.5, Tlance 3.5- Chef edged tlance in 2 hitting cats and dominating pitching as tlance barely made the innings minimum. Both teams hit well, but tlance was fortunate to get 3.5 points as bad as his pitching was.

Kevin 6.5, Jim 3.5- Jim's pitching was almost as bad as tlance's and he only managed 1 point there. Neither team hit particularly well, and they managed to split the offensive points.

Big D 6, Treff 4- D's hitters were very good, but Treff's were better. D swept the pitching categories and narrowly missed a dominating win.

TKO 5, Dub 5- Dub's balanced hitting attack was able to make up for an abysmal pitching week. Dub won 4 hitting cats, and TKO countered with 4 pitching.

Ram 5, Sam 5- Ram and Sam went back and forth. Hot hitting from Puig gave Sam the hitting edge while both pitching staffs were pretty bad, Ram's less so.

Foot 6, AZ 4- Foot did not miss Crush Davis much since AZ had 3 inactive players in his lineup. Foot was able to win 4 offensive cats in route to the victory.

Trudem 6, Milk 4- Milk had a really bad week and was lucky to get 4 points. His pitchers were bad and his hitters weren't much better. Trudem's bats were too cold to take better advantage.

OBX 5.5, Molsan 4.5- OBX had an epic hitting week led by Stanton and Puig. Molsan countered by nearly sweeping pitching.

Redseat 5.5, Brock 4.5- This match-up was extremely tight as both sides enjoyed strong hitting while enduring disappointing outings from their pitching staffs.

JD 5, Driaz 5- Both teams had good weeks and the matchup was every bit as close as the score indicates. Neither team was able to establish an edge.

Micro 5, Smitty 5- Every hitting category was close, but Smitty took 4 of them. It was a good thing too, because Micro's pitching staff did their jobs and knotted the game up.

I've decided that next year I'm going back to 2 or 3 leagues max. 5 leagues is just too friggin' much, especially since I concentrate so hard on this one. I have been neglecting some of my other ones.

Two trades combined in Rev's league: Chef sends me Andrelton, Castellanos, Verlander for Machado and Jhonny.
He definitely pulled on my heart strings there.

I agree though.... 5 leagues is a lot.
I've got 3 on cruise control, but last year was my first crack at 3 leagues total. Add in some writing and now playing and baseball has gone from a sick hobby to out of control. (and I've managed not to let it interfere with family...thus, the no sleep)

Went 4 0 3 1 in my first game back since 2007. I forgot what running was haha. Can't wait to get back out there Thursday.
