I agree and that was not a good plan by Kraft. He never had a chance it sounds like
Seems like the succession plan was set in stone before he was fired

Patriots decide to part ways with Mayo.
Skippy McD went 8-8 with Kyle Orton.Rookie QB. Rookie coach. Mayo got a raw deal man.
The lazy ass players that liked the fact that Mayo was a push over. How do you know? He had multiple vet players defending him.
Remind me which one is a captain?Devon, christian, jebrill, Micheal. This is just off the top of my head. Cmon dude.
How many rookie head coaches with rookie QBs don't look over their head. He was set up to fail. Next season it won't be the head coach that gets thrown under the bus, it will be Mayo. But the result will be the same. 4-6 win team.Did you watch any Pats games this year and see his demeanor all season long? As someone said, he was way in over his head.
Also, several players on D regressed during his tenure. He lost the team early on in the season.
In the face of tough competition, it is true that not all elements of a game are within a coach's control. That is especially true when their roster isn't as good as the competition. However, things like not consistently committing the same penalties and same execution break downs is within the control of coaching. It is within this area I see the 2024 coaching as a failure. How many rookie head coaches with rookie QBs don't look over their head. He was set up to fail. Vrabel and Skippy pleaseSo...who do you guys want?
Vrabel and Skippy?
Or Ben Johnson?
I think they will compliment each other very well.Vrabel and Skippy please
Agreed. And we all know Skippy is not HC material but IMO he's a great OC. A lot of people will argue he was great b/c of TB12, I get the argument just don't fully agree with itI think they will compliment each other very well.
I think...I believe...that Skippy also knows he's not HC material and will be fully entrenched in coming home and being the best OC he can be.Agreed. And with Vrabels tenacity it could be a nice fit.I think...I believe...that Skippy also knows he's not HC material and will be fully entrenched in coming home and being the best OC he can be.

But alas if only we had the #1 pick, our worries would melt away

I could get behind a Vrabel & Skippy reunion.So...who do you guys want?

Vrabel though not great as an HC did have some good years in TN. He also brings that discipline that is badly needed.
Skippy is a good OC and has shown he can work well with most QBs. We need that so we don't turn Maye into Mac Jones 2.0. Because, regardless who comes in there will be a new learning curve for Maye. I hope he doesn't regress.
Someone mentioned Saleh for DC.
Now that gives me a little chubby. Vrabel, Skippy and Saleh. Never happen this is NE.
