he won't get 2.2 mil for the remainder of the year or even for a full year at this point. he's been in substance abuse program since early feb 2012. he was due 2.4 mil this year and 3.2 next year. he can say good-bye to that now that he's twice fugged up

We have a kicker. Let's see what we got before signing new ones. Henery is young and a decent kicker.

Lets hope it does not cost us another game to find out like the last kicker did.

Prater will sign a vet minimum deal or a number very close to that. He is a mid-season replacement, not the longest tenured Bronco which is in part the reason he had a nice contract. Oh, he is also one of the league's best kickers. AH didn't have a job until we came knocking. Get him in for a tryout quick and get a deal done. AH hasn't done anything that warrants not looking for someone better, and Prater is better

Henery actually has been drastically more accurate over his career than Prater has.

That being said Prater has been drastically better from over 50 yards, which is huge in the NFL.

I'd still like to see Prater brought in, but Henery is no slouch, either...

If Prater signs for anywhere near the minimum, I would keep both. Not sure who to drop though.

I posted that 2 years ago when we were still on CBS. I don't think we can go back to him now. He had a habit of getting kicks blocked if I remember correctly. Can kick it a mile though.

I'll take a guy that can kick it a mile over a few guys that shank from the 30.

His issue on being blocked should of been coachable. That low projectery on long kicks is what he also used on short ones.

However I think his ship has sailed. Old news now after the kicking game debacles and no mentions from Allen Park means not happening. IMO

As a FG kicker in High School I believe I'm an expert, Kicaclious is better then any kicker we have or are bringing in.....Then again I don't have a degree in FG kicking those are hard to come by with all the studying you have to do nowadays.

I feel confident that Mayhew (African American making deicions on FG kickers for the Lions) is the right person for the job. Has there ever been a African American field goal kicker? I don't know.

I'm not rushing out and hiring a Nigerian Goalie coach for the Red Wings either.

So drastically better that no one in the NFL wanted him, including us until Freese was so bad he HAD to be replaced and the guy who was probably our first choice killed himself in a drunk driving accident.

Prater for some reason is shit from 40-49 throughout his career which is bizarre given that he is so good from 50+.

I stand corrected, I do remember Roby.....I liked him......Any other African American FG kickers we need to be contacting? I'll take Roby in a heartbeat.....He's gotta be around 65 by now.
