Ben Roethlisberger had a worse OL and still somehow took this Canada offense to the playoffs. Unreal
Ben ignored the playcalling whenever he wanted and did "Ben Things", calling audibles and going no-huddle. Kenny can't/isn't allowed to do that, yet.Ben Roethlisberger had a worse OL and still somehow took this Canada offense to the playoffs. Unreal
Yep it does help being a HOF QB 17 years in vs a rookie who started 3 games.Ben ignored the playcalling whenever he wanted and did "Ben Things", calling audibles and going no-huddle. Kenny can't/isn't allowed to do that, yet.
In Tomlin's eye this deems a contract extension for Canada.
It's scary hearing that Tomlin thinks this offense has found an 'identity'In Tomlin's eye this deems a contract extension for Canada.
Yep. It's natural to want to compare the 2, but its really setting Kenny up for failure. To be fair, after Ben's rookie season it wasn't all cupcakes & rainbows. Ben struggled a LOT and needed an other-worldly defense to bail him out constantly.Yep it does help being a HOF QB 17 years in vs a rookie who started 3 games.
Side topic: I can't even remember how many pick sixes he had that rookie year? Heck he had a lot those first few years alone if I remember correctly. That defense did a lot of help for him.Yep. Don't recall the pick 6s per say, but I know he averaged about 10 INTs his first 2 years. Rookie season & SB season. But his 3rd year he more than doubled that lol.Side topic: I can't even remember how many pick sixes he had that rookie year? Heck he had a lot those first few years alone if I remember correctly. Also he had a pretty veteran o-line, RB's and WR's his rookie year that helped a lot.
Not putting down what Ben did but that comparison is just awful because it is 100% apples to oranges.
Just found this article, he had a lot throughout his career.Don't recall the pick 6s per say, but I know he averaged about 10 INTs his first 2 years. Rookie season & SB season. But his 3rd year he more than doubled that lol.
So 13/17 happened in his first 10 seasons alone. Or 76.5% of his total career pick-6s. Shows you how good he got after their last super bowl appearance. About the time Bruce Arians departed... And the entrance of Antonio Brown.Just found this article, he had a lot throughout his career.
Ben Roethlisberger Doesn't Know How Many Pick-Sixes He's Thrown (But We Do)
Speaking to reporters Wednesday, Ben Roethlisberger was asked if the pick-six he threw against the Buffalo Bills last season sticks in his mind as he squares off against them in Week 1. And as back-breaking as that pick was, of course it doesn’t. That play happened months ago. And the only way...steelersdepot.com
