Lynch all by himself makes up for our ol deficiencies, not many rbs can do that. Hence why we have to add real talent to our ol not 7th round scrubs.

The Seahawks need to add real talent to the OL, even if they keep Lynch. It's been piss poor for far to long.

The unfortunate part of that is, that even if you infuse some good young talent in the off season, it takes a couple years to assimilate and form continuity.

Some truth to that, but quality depth would still be an upgrade.

This isn't anything we didn't already know regarding the situation. We knew both sides haven't getting along given the contract dispute and holdout this summer. But since it's been a media storm lately might as well toss in a 3 month old story to make things juicier I suppose

Lynch might be pissed and bitter, but he won't be traded in the middle of the season. Run him like crazy and get what you can out of him cause he's still the engine that moves this offense.

Between the rumors of his retirement last offseason and the near certainty of the Seahawks cutting him after this season to free up cap space, the writing has been on the wall for months that this would be Lynch's last year here regardless of anything else that happened. Even Lynch could see it. Why else would he have held out for more money this year? The only reason this is an issue again is because the media is looking for even the slightest hint of the Seahawks cracking under the pressure of trying to repeat. The Harvin situation and consecutive losses provided that opportunity. A couple of wins against the Raiders and Giants should make some of that go away, especially if those wins are convincing. Trading Lynch now would only intensify the scrutiny and invite more questions about those supposed locker room issues.

Besides, from a football perspective, I don't think trading Lynch now is in the team's best interest. Lynch hasn't been putting up great numbers this month, partly because he hasn't been getting as many carries as he probably should be, but with the injury to Coleman and Turbin's temporary move to fullback, the running back situation isn't exactly reassuring without him.

You don't trade your workhorse RB mid season when your attempting another SB run. Give me a break.

Maybe he'll be gone next year, but he's a Hawk for the rest of 2014.

If we lose 2 or 3 more games, trade him.

Another SB run? What team have you been watching? It'll be a miracle if this team even makes the playoffs.

The trade deadline is tomorrow, so there is no way to take that approach. The team will keep him, and the situation is no different than it has been all year, apart from more media rehashing it.

Exactly. We all knew he was getting cut next year.

Apparently if Coleman didn't go down they were going to trade Lynch which would have been surprising to me but life will go on without Beast.

Going off of my old and faded memory, IIRC we start the 6th pick selected at LT, a second rounder at LG, a second rounder at C, our most consistent OL is a 7th scrub at RG, and a second rounder at RT.
Moffit was a 3rd who was jettisoned recently.
The team has invested much more than 7th round scrubs on our OL.
Maybe you meant if we had players that played better than a 7th round scrub???

We all realize how much you like playing the chicken little role, but this is the NFL, its not always the team that plays its best ball in October that goes on to win the SB. No doubt that they need to improve, but to say that it will take a "miracle"? Miracles must happen every year because literally every single year there are teams that improve as the year goes on, get hot at the right time, then make noise. Im not saying the Hawks are that team, but to assume that they cant? Please... And on the flip side, just about every year there is a team with a 6-2 récord early, that blows it and doesnt get in.

If that were to happen, it would be well past the trade deadline, but you knew that.

Keep on thinking negative, tzorn. At least you are consistent.....
