I disagree with that article. Marshall is a better player. If he got 10 I can see crabtree at like 8.5 a year.
Brandon Marshall just got extended for 3 years $30 million.
If Crabtree gets this kind of deal from the 49ers, I would vomit.
That's all he got?????
Brandon Marshall? What am I missing here? The guy has 218 catches in the last 2 years. That's almost exactly how much money Vincent Jackson's gonna make over the next 3 years. In fact, it's a little less.
23 of that is guaranteed money, so is he just broke or something? Want to guarantee he's going to get paid? This seems low. What am I missing?
This is the article for those who haven't seen it, btw:
Marshall deal could be ceiling for Crabtree negotiations | CSN Bay Area
It actually does seem low for a player of his caliber, I think Seattle is paying Harvin 12 Million a year, Either way its a hell of a good contract for the Bears.
If anything, this increases the chances Crabtree returns as it's somewhat unlikely any team is going to give him more than Marshall got.
That's why it says Marshall's contract is Crabtree's ceiling. It's not saying he will get that. It's saying he won't get more than it.
I know Im just saying I don't agree with the article. I don't think thats his ceiling. He isn't the same player as Marshall.
Do you think he's better than Marshall? Or will get more than Marshall? You do understand what a ceiling is, right?
No I don't think he is better. Yes I know what a ceiling. Ok I guess a team can give him 10 million if they want to over spend but it would be over paying for a guy. Not that its way off but I have a ceiling at 9 million a year and maybe 15 million Guaranteed. I think that is more realistic.
Now can things change yes. Crabtree catches 100 balls and scores 12 TDs then yes a team might grab him for 10 million but looking at it right now I don't see it.
I guess with the Jets in the league I guess it is a realistic shot at landing 10 million. They love to over pay for players.
I can be wrong. I was wrong about Cano getting that kind of money.
