Watching some of the post game and I agree with what they're saying: was payback needed for some of the stuff from last game? Sure. That involves one fight. Challange Max to a fight the right way, score on Beej and bing bang boom, done. Sucker punching Talbot (whether or not he declined a fight) is heinous, and crap talking a guy you just elbowed while he's down being attended to is disgusting. Especially a guy who wasn't even IN the last game. I'm jacked up right now. I wish I had a punching bag...it'd be Gilles face. ARGAHGARHARG *deep breathes*

what happened to paul martin

He got hurt on the PK. Which he rarely ever plays. But, because of the melee, Martin is out there blocking shots. That's why this type of thing pisses me off.

It's not 1975, and these guys are making 20k a season. Martin is worth 4 million a season, check that 5 million. Not to mention what a guy like Letang, Fleury or Staal are worth to this team in the coming season.

They cannot become a sacrificial lamb. They're worth too much money.

Beej is emotionally drained right now. He clearly feels guilty. He said he feels responsible for some of the stuff that went on. Poor guy. I mean, he was in a fight with a player who wanted to be in a fight. I fail to see how that's a crime. I really, really do. DiPietro didn't have to fight. Seriously.

I feel sorry for supposed fans of the NHL that got enjoyment out of watching this game, tonight. It was a mockery, and puts the game of hockey in a horrible light.

It was back to 29 B.C., and Gladiators at the Coliseum.

Guys like Mario Lemieux and Cam Neely suffered because of their talent in a day and age of hockey where this type of stuff was more commonplace. It shouldn't be like this, anymore.

What a bunch of bullshit drama.

The cheapshots speak for themselves. Johnson has nothing to answer for.

If there WERE a Penguin who could have put a stop to all this early and maybe feel guilty it is Talbot. If he accepts a fight, I think most of this trash doesn't happen.

BY all accounts though Talbot's hit on Comeau was hardly vicious (I'll reserve some judgement here as I haven't seen it), so he has no need to answer for his actions.

Meh. A game got out of hand. It happens.

Ticked I can't find the Talbot/Comeau hit. Surprised it's not on the internet somewhere.

No reason to feel guilty for having a killer right cross.

I agree with you. Talbot could've ended it with a fight. But the score got out of hand quite quickly, and honestly because it wasn't a horrific hit Talbot shouldn't feel the need to fight (and cripe it's the guys birthday, who wants to fight?). The Isles took justice into their own hands with the sucker punch, and from that point out it was everyone responding to something else that happened in the game. It got out of hand, but the refs had their heads up their butts throughout the game.

I don't understand why Godard had to jump off the bench. Johnson clearly wanted to fight, and he's shown he knows how to handle himself. That's a bunch of money coming out of his wallet, his coach's wallet, and another AHLer (maybe ECHLer at this point) playing on Sunday.

Tangradi passed initial concussion testing, but has symptoms of one. Danny B says the first half looked like a hockey game and the second 'did not.'

Wingers don't fight goal-tenders, unless you're ron hextall.

It was actually a left :eek:

A look into the youtube archives reveal it was indeed a left. I guess I was thinking of Johnson standing over a concussed DiPietro with his right cocked and ready for action.

I agree, but from his vantage point he saw a guy who was seriously brought up to fight/grind going after his goalie, and after all the other crap that went on he jumped. I think he's stupid, but I don't blame him for doing it. At this point we are in trouble with players. Tangradi out most likely for Sunday, Martin looked to be hobbled, Godard out with suspension, and only the Lord knows who else could be out. That's 2, possibly 3, more call ups. Feel bad for WBS.
