I just don't get why the Isles felt that they had to right some wrong in this game. Your goalie got punched in a fight in a game that was already over, that's not reason to come out and pull bush league crap. The Pens caved into playing the Isles game, and that's not acceptable either, but the smoking gun's on the other end. Overall, embarrassing not so much because of the score, but because of the actions.

Between to obvious coverage that ESPN will give this and the Montreal-Boston debacle the other night, any good momentum that hockey got from the Olympics, winter classics, sid-ovie, and 24-7 is gone. Hockey is a niche, goon sport again in the eyes of the masses and the NHL just lost a multi-million dollar TV deal with ESPN that was all but guaranteed with NFL and NBA lockouts looming on the horizons.

I get the impression that it was more about Talbot's hit that concussed Comeau. I think at least 4 or 5 Isles players went after him at different points of the game. The BJ thing was more of a ... well, since I'm already pissed off, might as well go after you too.

It wasn't a really bad hit. Could've been 2 minutes at the most, but not a head shot. I'm sorry, but this game may have started as vengeance, but the goonery started after they had a 5 goal lead. That's the disturbing part. They got a lead and pulled this crap. Winning is vengeance, and while they certainly got that, they took it too far. Disgusting really.

I wonder what it was like to be one of the guys in the locker room at the end of this. I mean, ho to keep your composure and play against the Rangers on Sunday. I mean, wtf. If I was a Penguin in that room, I would need downers to get to sleep tonight. A team just essentially gooned you, and then followed it up by gooning you all over again when the tougher guys were in the locker room. What a joke game. The islanders are out of it, so whatever, but the Pens are a contender.

It wasn't a horrible hit, at all. Talbot got a clean hip check on him, and he went for a ride. I think the location it happened on the ice might have incensed the Isle bench because it was right in front of them. But, a clean hip check. Got low, didn't leave his feet, and didn't make contact with the head.
