The whole point of acquiring Morris was to provide depth at the forward positions and allow Lebron and AD more rest (they previously had at least 1 of them on the court basically at all times). No point in adding the other Morris, unless he's extremely cheap and Kuzma is dealt (and who knows if Markieff stays). The Lakers don't have a lot of money to work with this summer beyond AD's extension, so will Markieff want to stick around on the cheap? A lot depends on how well this season ends.

Kuzma could very well be dealt in the offseason, as he hasn't adjusted very well to his new role within this roster, but it's far from being a sure thing. Tough to deal a player when he is so cheap on his rookie contract, as you can't take back much salary in return.

They'll use the MLE and add Marcus, Markieff there is no problem to resign after adding him, AD's extension will only cause entering the lux tax which goes with the plan...

That is off course if things stay as planned and the circus makes it out of the West to the finals... If it doesn't, anything unpredictable may happen, cause neither Lebron or Klatch will take the blame, but will accuse the F.O. instead...

Disagree about the Morris twins, but we'll see. Lakers need to add a playmaker to take over with Lebron on the bench more than another Morris twin.

Yeah... Kuzma will be restricted FA this summer and most probably wants out of the circus... He hasn't signed an extension and obviously this causes uncertainty for other teams to chase him and pay the Lakers during the mid season.

They probably will have to move him on a "sign and trade" this summer in order to get the best they can instead of losing him for nothing, because with the twin clowns joining the circus this summer, there is certainly no "room" for Kuzma to co-exist there...

Funny how we're not hearing this from Kuzma...

Yeap... and Kuzma is the only asset they have in order to achieve it... Therefore, Kuzma's (no) future with the team, is predictable...

By what metrics have you determined that Kuzma is held in value by other teams???

His salary next year jumps to $3.5M, and his qualifying offer for 21/22 is $5.2M. Severely limits what they can get in return, unless they can find a trade for a player in a similar rookie salary position. Their standard MLE next season is more valuable at $9.7M in terms of adding a player.

They will have to add salary next to Kuzma of course... It's nothing on the market for PG or combo guard they would consider adding out of free agency at the MLE's value... (that is unless I miss smth, you've spotted)...

I guess developing moronic logic is a common thing down there in the zorroland...

Kuzma would have agreed to an extension already if he didn't want out, or the Lakers would have offered him one if they had him included in their future plans...

Neither of the two has happened though and the Lakers have added Markieff, which "pushes" Kuzma further back in the rotation after trying hard to shop him before the trade deadline...

Guess who's brain was damaged after his mom dropped him while in infant age then...
Well developing moronic logic has worked really well for you. you have mastered it to A science so that no one sounds more ignorant then you

DiVincenzo > Kuzma right?

Giannis > Kareem right?

Bien sur!

By far... to all but an ignorant, yes!

Giannis > Kareem right?

Could be... it will show after a few more seasons if it is the case, certainly more potential than any other currently in the league to achieve it.

Not a lot to pick from, PG wise (but a play-making wing would work as well). Dragic would be interesting if he wanted to take a pay cut, but that would likely require Miami intending to move away from him. Dunn's 3 pt shooting has fallen way off, otherwise he could be interesting if Chicago doesn't give him a qualifying offer at $7M. I'm sure VanVleet isn't going anywhere. Napier could be had on the cheap.

It will take far more than a few seasons to pass the Cap. Arguably the best NBA player ever, depending on how you rate centers/eras, etc.

You really are one funny homer. Giannis is now in his 7th year. Here's a comparison of the two through 7 seasons.

KAJ- 30.0 ppg, 15.5 rebs, 4.4 asts, 1.3 stls, 3.6 blks
Giannis- 19.9 ppg, 8.8 rebs, 4.3 asts, 1.2 stls 1.3 blks

Kareem led the league in scoring twice, blocks twice & rebounding once. Giannis hasn't led the league in anything.

Kareem- rookie of the year, 7 time all star (5x first team), Finals MVP, 4x league MVP

Giannis- 3 time all Star (2x first team), 1 MVP award

Giannis is a damn good player. But he doesn't have the resume right now to even be mentioned in the same sentence with KAJ.

So Marcus Morris, who was receiving $15-20m a year contract offers less than seven months ago is going to take the MLE to join the Lakers?

For what, to play with his brother?

Hey by that logic the Lakers might be able to sign a Giannis for a heavy discount too then.

You have a tendency to react by comparing apples with oranges, if you can compare an entire bright career with today's best player in the world, who only has had a third of presence in the league and then, not in the same league...

Truth is, that my assessment for Giannis having the most of potential out of all other players in today's league to become "the best ever", isn't a "homer's" opinion, but it coincides with many other "Hall of Famers" (like Pippen, or Shaq, or Barkley, or Kobe), but with Kareem himself too... and it is off course based on the fact that Giannis isn't a Center like KAJ could only play, but he can be a stand out player in every position from PG to playing Center, which automatically makes him the favorite to be the most complete player the game has ever seen...

Wait a minute. You're the same Bucks fan that has said more than once that Giannis is already the greatest Milwaukee Buck of all time. And that's complete homeristic nonsense.

15-20M annually for MM? ...who offered that? He got 15M for only 1 year from the Knicks only because they could easily afford it...

Giannis to the lakers? Pg to the bucks?

Why would the Bucks look to replace Middleton with another All Star next to Giannis, after Middleton renewed his contract with the team? The Bucks would look to add a replacement in case Middleton would leave, not to add anybody if he would stay as it happened.

Be my guest in acquiring Giannis... you'll surely succeed! (it's a promise)...

Irrelevant whether they could afford it. A lot of teams next season can afford $15m on a player.

So again, why would Marcus only take the MLE?
