Hey guys, We did just win a Super Bowl.

Sanchez will be a stop gap if he starts. There is worse, but not exciting by any means. He did win 2 playoffs games for the Jets with a similar team as we have in Denver right now. (Trying to stay positive here)

This, and the recent success of this team leave me inclined to grant Elway some leeway here. There may be something else to his plans we do not see yet.Hey guys, We did just win a Super Bowl.![]()
Oh yeah we know what Dirty does...
It may mean we are intent on drafting a QB. If you did, you would need a veteran qb to help with him. Sanchez is a pro, is smart. We won the super bowl with a team that was in the last year (maybe 1yr past) its Manning window.
Fans really need to understand that. This is not a team taylor-made to repeat, it was always going to need to step back and retool itself. We know the system works, we know what we need, and now is time to bring along a young team and develop a strong core, not cling to the core of a team that was half built with expensive FAs.
Our qb sit was uncertain even with Brock. Our ol was atrocious and needed a complete overhaul. The D is great, but we could never afford to pay all 3 DL (sly is a free agent next year). We cant have 3 high priced lbs (sucks to lose trevathan), on top of 3 highly paid dbs. People had to go, the team needs financial balance.
I look forward to this next phase. Sanchez is a stop gap to help us find the right QB to build around... oz was apparently not it. If you make a mistake it can set you back years, Sanchez is good enough that if we had to play him, we could still develop young offensive talent around him ss he can run the offense, wouldnt be great but he can get guys lined up, put players in position to learn, execution will suffer obviously due to his limitations.
So, im fine with it for up to a year ... as a backup its even better. But, lets not rush to pick the best of a thin lot and commit just because hes the best of whats available, thats what houston did. I like kap because he has some potential and a contract we can get out of if he doesnt work out. Doesnt set us back and thats really what i want this next year, get some who can run a huddle/command a team (not as common as you think), focus on fixing that ridiculously bad ol and getting some more playmakers drafted for the front 7.
Turns out Elway has a plan after all. First to worst.
And then you can draft your QB at #1 in 2017.
Little dramatic there.
I think you forgot what a good D can do for you. Unless the defense becomes injury prone we won't be drafting #1...
But starting Sanchez is a good attempt.
I was thinking if you punt on first downs you might be able to avoid Sanchez mucking up the field position.
Least we don;t have Christian Ponder.![]()
