phillies have been bad, and the blue jays have been awful. you know they're excited to see the M's.

Poor execution this entire inning.

Lead-off hitter was down 0=2 and walked.
Next hitter hits a grounder up the middle that pitcher can't get and then Segura bonks it.
Next hitter bunts in obvious situation and it goes 3 feet and we try to get lead runner and just miss.
Next batter is down 0-2 and he hangs a pitch for sac fly.

Only gave up the 1 with bases loaded and no outs, but already down 2 this wasn't what we needed.

In most cases with a guy batting that well you think there is some luck going his way that will end soon, but with him he is just on every pitch. If they don't lock him up soon, they are bigger idiots than I ever gave them credit for being.

They're hanging in there.... They need to get back to .500 ball soon, that's vitally important ... You gotta be plus in wins, hopefully they can get there and not look back again ...

He used to take the first pitch on a regular basis, but I have noticed that it seems like he is swinging at the first pitch more frequent. Subsequently he has been hitting ground balls that end up being double plays. Pitchers know that he takes the first pitch so they seem to always throw strikes. Can't blame him for trying to take advantage, but I would rather see him be patient and drive the ball. Feels like the longer the count goes the more comfortable he is to sit and wait for the pitch he wants.

Getting Felix-Pax-Haniger back next week would be huge in helping that cause. Honestly, I think we see Haniger but not the others that soon.

They got away with having so many questionable arms and backup players against a dreadful Texas team and they have a few series coming up where they might also be able to get away with it, but they need to get healthy soon because there is a stretch later this month that will end up being a slaughter with the staff as is. 10 straight games to close out the month against quality teams. 8 of them on the road.
