Well, you can't blame any of this utter and complete disaster on the pen. 6+ of scoreless was more than enough for the team to get ONE FUCKING RUN somewhere.

11 runs yesterday and 11 straight innings without a run tonight against a total and complete garbage pitching staff.

Damn. With that state of the pitching staff just can't afford to drop games like last night.

A silver lining story since the on field stuff stinks:

Steve Cishek threw bullpen yesterday and says it went well. Will head out on rehab stint again next week, most likely with Tacoma.

Jean Machi, who left last night's game with nerve issue in thumb, is better today. But Mariners will try to give him night off if possible.

Servais says Dillon Overton will start Sunday in Paxton's spot unless he's needed tonight out of bullpen.

what happened to the bromide bots?

it's been awhile since we've been scolded for not realizing how early it is.

This team is frustrating. The bullpen gives you gray hair nearly every night. They pick the damnedest times to stop hitting with RISP. And the injuries are entirely insane. Add the 1-6 start and there are lots of reasons to be down on this team.

Yet they are just 4 games below .500.

It's not too early to judge this team and it sure feels like every time you want to think they can climb their way up to .500 something new happens. Yet they are not falling back to some fatal point as of yet.

Sooner or later they have to get lucky enough to stop finding new injuries every week don't they? :noidea:

Maybe at some point we will see all 5 guys they had pegged as their starters actually able to be on the roster at the same time. Maybe?

I bitch about the team as much as anyone, but there have been quite a few bright spots with some of the guys that have come in for injured players like Gamel and Motter.

I just want to hold on without jumping fully off the cliff until some point when we can see all or at least most of the players on the field at the same time we had coming out of spring.

I mean of course it's not going to fix our glaring issues at catcher or Valencia and our lack of answers at 1st base, but get some arms back at least and see what it all looks like.

Couldn't they have used just one of those hits with RISP last night at some point?

7 run lead with 2 innings left, and I finally feel comfortable with the pen coming in and finishing it.

I couldn't even come close to saying the same when it was a 5 run lead.

A win would be nice for the team and for fans tonight.

The Tuffy chant is hilarious. Like Rudy or something.
