Series Thread: Mariners vs A's Thread

A series we need/should win... If we can just continue w/ the momentum and win series from here on out, we're going to make the postseason... We can't lose a series against the A's when we're right in the thick of things... The old M's would get swept or lose this series 1-2 earlier this season... Let's hope this new, revitalized team can put it all together...

On another note, the teams ahead of us are playing some tough series this weekend:

Detroit vs Texas
Houston vs Toronto
Baltimore vs San Francisco
Arizona vs Boston

I'd prefer to see Texas sweep Detroit, I don't think we'll catch Texas, rather see Detroit distance themselves from the pack in the losing column... Same with Houston...

I had a feeling that they might call someone up from Tacoma to make this start after the extra inning game on Tuesday, although I still thought there was a chance that they'd treat it like a "throw day" with stakes for Miranda. This was the better call to make. There's no telling how Miranda would have responded to having to pitch in a game three days after having to come in and pitch in relief on what was probably his throw day. That being said... I'm not expecting Wieland to come in and pitch lights out either.

They are doing a good job of putting a halt to momentum by getting doubled up in each of the first two innings, plus a 3 spot for Oakland.

I am really hoping Wieland can keep it close. Not expecting much from him, so far he appears very hittable.

He's the guy only comfortable pitching down by 3.
Also starter #12 for the M's this season, which is the most since 2009 for the Mariners I believe. Shows how thin this team was at SP going into the season.
