Healy is a natural 3rd baseman.

Well, y'all enjoy the rest of the game, I'm getting a couple hours of sleep before my day starts. Hope they pull it out.

Unless something happen, that could be Ichiro’s last AB.

The 7th inning just made it so Ichiro leads off in the 9th if Servais leaves him in the game. Fitting end?

Very nice send off.

Probably going to be a long season but a nice way to get the season started taking 2 from Oakland.

The hardest part of watching Ichiro's exit from the game was Kikuchi in tears.

Any wins against your divisional opponent is key... Glad to see the team start of as well as they did... Pitching will still be an issue this year but it looks like our offense will be an improvement...

hopefully at least one of them works out to pitch in some leverage situations. Looks like they really need someone in the 7th inning so hopefully someone can stepup

That back end rotation is a concern, wish they upgraded that part.

I feel like this is going to be a long season for Edwin encarnacion, he hasn't hit well all spring training and now he is off to a slow start he might be hitting low .200 all year

Disagree to an extent about the NFL in Europe. My in laws moved to Ireland two years ago and somehow that entire country is Seahawks fans. Generally the problem with NFL Europe is it was like the AAF now and the real NFL teams going over there have kind of put on a shitty product.

Interesting perspective.

I still find it to be kind of a waste though. The NFL will always be such a niche product in a continent that loves soccer so much. I've spent around 7 months or so living in Europe in two different trips, and I never got the impression there would be much interest in American football over there.

I will say that being in Kosovo during the World Cup was a blast. Despite not having a team in the matches, the way they rooted so hard for players with Albanian/Kosovar roots was incredible. When Switzerland beat Serbia, they went absolutely nuts (there were a couple of Albanians on the Switzerland team + the tension between those communities played into it). I was in a village of about 7,000 people or so, but the entire town went around waving Albanian flags and shooting guns for the entire night. Was quite a spectacle.

Kikuchi's outing is reminding me of Eric Bedard. Good stuff, solid pitches, lots of pitches....

Obviously the trade was a bust, but Eric Bedard was one of my favorite players to watch pitch. This could be a bit of a hyperbolic comment, but his curveball is probably one of the best I've seen from a Mariners pitcher.

Would've been nice if he stayed healthy. He had some really filthy stuff.

There's a method to the madness. We're heading to Disneyland for spring break in a little over a week - but our son has a fund raiser for his taekwondo on Saturday - and we check in on Sunday. So, I'm trying to adjust my sleeping hours so I can drive through the night and make the 18 hour drive in one shot. So, I'm stay up til 4 am each morning and sleeping for a few hours, as long as I'm up before noon. Not what was originally planned, but sometimes plans change and you have to adjust.

Ahh I see.

Boy that's a nasty drive. One of my friends said he'd drive down myself and a few others to LA for the Rose Bowl, but I declined because to me spending the $250 or something for a last minute round trip flight sounded better than sitting in a car that long.

I also go stir crazy sitting in a car for that long. Longest drive I've had is probably from Seattle to Whistler or Seattle to Eugene. Surprisingly sitting in an airplane for 12+ hours is much easier to me than sitting in a car for 7 hours. Probably because I can get drunk on the plane and not bother anyone when I have to piss every hour.
