I thought you didn’t like him cause of clubhouse issuesI wanted Jazz Chisholm at the deadline but a lot of fans thought we could do better. We haven't and Jazz would fill the need for a 3B right about now.
Just my opinion but Mayo is a go for it move. He may end up like Kelenic where he is a top prospect who flames out but IMO with how it appears ownership is content with not spending to win trading for a huge upside guy is what I’d do.Ya I would pass on Castillo for Kjerstad. Not enough. Now Kjerstad and Mullins I would do and that helps Orioles with some payroll.
I don't know enough about Mayo to say I would do Miller or Woo for him. Plus that doesn't help with our cheap ass issue.
Same with Gilbert/Kirby and prospects for May/Kjerstad or Mayo/Westburg.
I would hold to my guns and say it is Castillo and maybe a prospect for Mayo/Kjerstad or Mayo/Westburg. I kind of still like Mullins in a deal.
I am not in a hurry to trade just to trade. Either it makes sense for this year plus a couple more or just forget it and roll with the same crap hitters we have. With our self-imposed low budget, I want to keep all the top prospects because we aren't getting good in their prime in the next several years so that is our only chance.
He did much better for the Yankees than I expected; looked like an Alfonso Soriano clone with 11 HR and 18 SB in only 46 games. He'll be a 30-30 guy and with that short porch in Yankme stadium, a possible 40-40 threat.I wanted Jazz Chisholm at the deadline but a lot of fans thought we could do better. Yes, but we needed his bat. Would not be my first 100 choice, but of the guys available that got traded he would have fit the need. In a perfect world he would not have even been a need, but we are the Mariners so we can't be choosy unfortunately.I thought you didn’t like him cause of clubhouse issues
Oh you could be 100% right with Mayo. I really don't know enough about him to know if he has a high bust potential or not. I totally agree with getting a top prospect because of our payroll issues. I just don't know if Mayo is that guy but at the same time, I don't know who is that guy. Prospects always scare me, but you have to roll the dice with them if you are us.Just my opinion but Mayo is a go for it move. I see your point with Mullins and I’d never thought of that. I was going mostly Kjerstad because he is cheap, former highly rated prospect as well is a throw in because Mayo is the key
My thing is if they trade with the Orioles I think it has to involve a prospect swap somewhere. Unless it’s Castillo for Mullins I don’t think it works.
And finally IMO if Westburg and Mayo are on the table there isn’t a prospect that can’t be involved. Cause those two guys are the perfect two guys that would make this offseason an A
Totally agree. And I should have said I wanted him at the deadline but after the trade. I guess us not getting him made me want him more and then watching him change positions and playing like he did with the Yanks was the change for me, but like you said who knows what would have happened as a Mariner. He did much better for the Yankees than I expected; looked like an Alfonso Soriano clone with 11 HR and 18 SB in only 46 games. No telling how he would have done as a Mariner. Maybe a Dylan Moore clone. LOL.
