the only way to get good offensive FA's to sign here is to overpay them.
every team that jerry tries to trade with know that, so they can ask for a lot more and offer a lot less in return for trades.
just the way it is.
owners are fine with it because it still manages to be ULTRA profitable with it.
for stanton and the fucking pieces of shit in charge, trading away our great pitching in cash neutral trades is the plan. building on what's good is anathema to them. i don't understand how "fans" up here don't understand it.
the only thing better for owners would be selling the good pitching for straight up cash without investing a penny back into the team. but they can't do that and still pretend to care about winning, so they'll just settle for making the 3rd most profit in MLB instead of trying to increase it. poor dears.
just saw abreu for gilbert on an SI article rumor/idea. nothing super new.
i see it as a typical mariners move. enough to get me to watch the beginning of next season because even though i'm a super negative curmudgeon where this team is concerned, i just can't help myself.
for any of my fellow vets on here, i just want to say again that VETX has the full MLB subscription for 35% off in case you're interested in following other teams.
