Seahawks are over cap.so.you.
Want more draft picks if they can get them..every free agent cost at least.
5t.o 10 mil.
Draft guys are cheaper..1mil..or whatever.
Even 2 extra.picks.makes a big diff.

If it's 10 mil a piece.

100% correct. Stupid. I also hate BABIP stats. That shows he isn't as bad because when he makes contact he is in a higher percentile of hitters. So all he has to do is make contact? Why didn't the hitter just do that? Dumb. I will stick with batting average stat all day long. He is what he hits no excuses and no advanced metrics needed.
My biggest thing with these new analytics is it somehow hates SB, RBI, and actual runs.

I get their reasoning for RBI, but that still is a huge stat and why I think it is silly to put Julio in the leadoff spot. Yes, he gets more AB’s but putting the bottom of order in front of him negates the entire point. A 2 run HR still beats a solo HR.

I know I can’t win the battle with bunting. I truly don’t see the difference between going up there and trying to sacrifice yourself to move a runner over and it not working out vs going up there and trying to hit an HR and striking out. And it’s the same with steals, yes you might get thrown out but the chance of a guy scoring on 2B vs 1B is higher. Plus, a pitcher pitches different if he has a speed guy on at 1B as well as it changes the defensive positioning when a guy in on 2B.

I know I’m in the minority but I still prefer him to play SS and move JP. I don’t have the the reference and I can’t remember where I heard it supposedly JP is one of the worst SS’s in the game going to his right. Thats not a good combo with having Polanco or Solano playing 3B

Ya I am not sure how he rates defensively. I know he isn't good enough defensively to make up for that weak bat.

I like old school baseball and old school stats. It worked for the first 100 years so not sure why it doesn't work now.

My nightmare continues.

News: ROOT Sports is finalizing its new-look broadcasting lineup for the Mariners 2025 season:

OUT: Dave Sims and Mike Blowers

IN: Angie Mentink, Jay Buhner, Dave Valle, Ryan Rowland-Smith, with Aaron Goldsmith assuming TV play-by-play full-time.

the most relevant question regarding a piece of shit like Robles is whether he's even good enough to play in the bigs for a complete season ever again.

he hasn't even come close since his rookie year in 2019.

and yes, dipoto is next up on the chopping block for sure,, but getting rid of him doesn't solve anything in any way whatsoever. no gm is going to be able to create a contender with a front office that's so entirely indifferent to winning while raking in record profit. especially not any gm stanton and co choose to hire or promote from within.

i'm betting jerry gets canned early in the season giving stanton the opportunity to promote an interim gm from within and get his son a step higher in the pecking order. perfect pr since they can just blame jerry and a rookie interim who's "learning the job" for yet another failure of a season, and then they can make a big spectacle out of hiring a new gm in the offseason who will be as feckless and vapid as nearly every other gm this team has had in its miserable history.

not sure how people don't understand that this team is and will be nowhere under this ownership group.

i'm going to lose respect for dan and edgar the longer they choose to be clowns for clowns.
I can't blame Dan and Edgar for the dysfunction of the FO not giving a shit about winning. They're doing their best to turn a flaming pile of dog shit lineup to just dog shit lineup. They both know deep down there's no chance at winning and no help coming.
