Well, the truth is that if the 2024 Mariners offense and rotation had the 2023 bullpen, they would have made the playoffs. Dipoto got lucky with the bullpen in 2022 and 2023, and it gave him the confidence that he could trade away high value relievers any time he wanted and replace them easily with castoffs who would step up and be just as effective. His luck ran out last year. If he wasn't going to re-stock the infield this winter, he could have at least picked up a couple of somewhat low-cost effective veteran middle relievers. But, he failed to even do that. Instead, he is once again hoping for luck.

Or just done what he should’ve done is make a trade with the Marlins for one of their pen arms for Haniger and one of MIF prospects and Locklear. It sucks having to attach good to great prospects but that is the situation Jerry is in with payroll restrictions.

That’s the frustrating thing with the farm system is they have Emerson, Celestin, Young, Arroyo and Peete, they have to trade 3 of them eventually and all of them have sky high value right now. Who is to say that a couple or all don’t have 2024 Harry Ford seasons where their value tanks.

100% correct. Stupid. I also hate BABIP stats. That shows he isn't as bad because when he makes contact he is in a higher percentile of hitters. So all he has to do is make contact? Why didn't the hitter just do that? Dumb. I will stick with batting average stat all day long. He is what he hits no excuses and no advanced metrics needed.
