That’s what I’m saying. But teams trade guys for top prospects even if half of them flame out. The Nats/Padres for Soto is an anomaly where all the prospects work outWell to be honest players landing on the top 100 list is overrated if you look back at past years lists the majority of players in the top end of the list either didn't pan out or had just average careers.
This is where internal scouting is so important. Your team has to know if your guys are the real deal or just projections. Yankees were good at that former back in the day. They knew guys like Montero, Hitchcock, and Russ Davis who they unloaded on us instead of us getting Rivera or Pettitte or Posada who I read we asked for in different deals.
I can't argue that.Yeah I agree I feel if a player goes from AA to AAA then that is a signal to me that the organization doesn't think they are special. AAA is just a team that is to bring players to the majors in case of injury or to be used as trade pieces. When the Mariners promoted Tyler Locklear to AAA and didn't give him a healthy amount of AB's as bad as the offense is tells me they really don't think highly of him.
Disagree on if a player reaches AAA that means the organization doesn’t think highly of them. Most prospects go to AAA and they should especially position players cause it is a lot more like MLB with playing every day, travel and facing players who have made it to the big leagues.Yeah I agree I feel if a player goes from AA to AAA then that is a signal to me that the organization doesn't think they are special. All I know is he is 6'1", called the 'Fireballer' and signed for $250K after his $350K deal with Oakland fell through last year.

Because most prospects that make the jump from AA to MLB struggle and then get sent down to AAABut why send them to AAA and put him in an environment that is "more like the MLB" and not just put him in the MLB if he was this highly touted prospect?
