some positive stuff from some of the guys in the minors. Going to try and watch a few of them closely.
Typically try and follow a few guys pretty close just to see how they are doing and if they appear to be making strides forward.

Zunino ugh... a HR a double makes me less of a fan of him in AAA. Just get base hits or BB... that's what he needs to work on.

He's another AAA hero, like Montero. Can mash the hell out of inferior pitching, but once he gets to the big leagues fails.

He isn't, and never will be, a contact hitter. I just want to see him make good, consistent contact. I don't care if it is a single, double, triple, or home run. I agree walks would be nice as well, but that I would like to see compared to his K's. If a pitcher throws you 3 strikes right over the plate, then walking itself would be a meaningless stat.

I haven't seen any of the home runs but I'd really like to Zunino use AAA as extended spring training and focus of going opposite field primarily. He has the bat that can work fine at Safeco if he waited back. You can tell when a guys confidence is shaken when he strictly is trying to pull the ball like he was doing last year. The Mariners need a righty that has power to the RCF gap.

totally agree. I guess my point was that focusing on the result and calling it either positive or negative would be incorrect. The type of contact is the important part. Using the whole field would be the biggest improvement.
