@NWinAZ, any idea when they finalize the minor league rosters? I’m hoping some of the big names come to Tacoma and on their website the roster is like half full.

I'd guess in the next 2-3 weeks. I've been following for Everett and I know they start May 11 so my guess is maybe a few days before that?

Triple-A start delayed; alternate sites to return

The Triple-A season initially was scheduled to begin April 6, but games will be pushed back to early May, around the same time the Double-A and Class A seasons are expected to start. Some Triple-A teams tentatively are set to begin their seasons on May 4, with the rest two days later.

the sophmore class has..way better ..infield prospects..and maybe..the freshman class as well...

the mariners...(jedi)..has said they will..draft infielders......they should wait..one year...then ..ok..at least for the..next 2 years after that
joe doyle..who..i can go with as a scout.....and......so i will quote...has said as well...that the mariners will draft an infield as well

but
mariners still need ..A..prime time..2b..for one of the last..things..in the mariners re-build........that said..here is my list.so far......for mariners 2B
it is a small list...so far...and i have kiked some guys off of it...cuz..the mariners need...a star there...who can bat..as well as defend
i made the point..in another ..post..that the mariners..are..24th..in batting..they where..4th in pitching(not bad..for the mariners)
but only a few guys will work for me ...so far..(im still in the search)

trevor story........2B....2022..free agent

and...
wander franco....who the mariners would have to trade..for...but who./ do you trade...??

to get wander..for 2022.(start of the season).you would have to trade..like..2 other..guys..then a player to be named..later..wich..i think..can be up to 6 months later..which would be hoglund..............its..a strategy...LOLololol

cant remember.if i won this one.lolol....hopefully i would queen trap..oh will...so much ..for my props..LOLOLOL

plus..1 . more..idea..on the backside,..of a rebuild..they will need trade material.....and 2022and 2023..seemingly..better for infielders
i suggest.that they go after........some.............not all...trade material

yeah..ok..so 1 more point...even if..they..signed..trevor story..they would have hoglund..for trade..material..for whatever..else they needed
or they could..keep him..cuz..he is good
but that is the way i would go..draft guys that would work for other teams...and the mariners as well..............kind of...lololol

at least..in this draft...right after a pandemic..and..on the backside of a re-build

Ya no idea. SeattleCoug probably hit it on his reply. I tend not to trust anything MLB says.

May 6th is what Tacoma has on their website. I was just curious because the Rainiers have like 9 spots open. Right now they have 3 starting pitchers, 1 C and 1 OF. Just wondering for selfish reasons hoping they send Gilbert, Kelenic or company there.

we..will give him...the i will keep an eye on him......watch
Nelson gets mixed reviews on his defense. He does have a plus arm that helps neutralize the running game, but he is inconsistent with his overall receiving. One game might look fine, but the next might show much less reliable hands. Given his streakiness on both sides of the ball, how much a scout likes him will depend on when they saw him, with the team that saw him at his best likely to take him in the top five rounds.

I'd be pretty stunned if Kelenic saw action in a minor league game, Gilbert I'm unsure if it will be AA or Tacoma.

i dont know..if there is a point ......to him going to AA........but..the mariners are the evaluators..on that..as with kelenic..i would say as well
is there really a point..to them going to..AA
to me..and with cal raleigh..as well..really
i just do not know..what the point..of keeping them at...AA...i expect ..all 3..to be at..AAA..if not to start..then soon after

polishing there skills..at a lvl..we know..they should be at..and are at.........

we are really..just wondering......what will happen.in the mariners minors...and.the collage.is really..the only thing ..going till may..so i will do a bit of draft content

mariners will need to draft some..outfield guys to compensate..for..kilinic and julio moving up to AAA
which..julio..will prob start at AA..but prob be at..AAA..at least..after the draft..or in august..or even before..

but the mariners could use up to about 5..outfield guys..but it would be nice to get a couple at least ..in the top 10 picks

mariners still need pitching.and there are some good ones in the top..5 0r 6 rounds..depending on what a teams needs are
but..i dont think..it is really..a top priority..but at the same time..if gunner hoglund is at..#12..then i think..you have to take him
for reasons that i have said already

the mariners could use..infield !B..mariners have almost no..true 1B guys..in the minors....2b and 3b...they have some..but could use more
.they could use a couple prime time SS...which..when they say..infield..is usually what they mean..cuz the ss that..do not make it to
mlb..as ..a ss..alot..make it as..2b..or 3b..a good example in this draft will be..sweeny..who..is a bit slow..for ss..in the..mlb..but would make a good
3b,2b..or..even 1b..at 6-4
80
Photo headshot of Trey Sweeney

Trey Sweeney
SSEastern Illinois--206' 4" / 200 lbsLR

.and at least one catcher..2 would be better..the 2nd..as a HS..catcher(which..i have a hard time..on evals of HS..guys..but the mlb guys do a good job ..so.
.but there stats..available..if you look for them)

as i always say...filling the holes..in ..the teams minor league..is always a priority......just a basic..general one..filling..some slots ahead of time
with HS..guys..is..more on the ..table..at this point...if they like a guy...OF, catchers..pitchers..and SS..are most looked at..in HS

20 Rounds

Major League Baseball has informed its teams that the 2021 MLB Draft will be 20 rounds. That was expected news, as MLB negotiated with the Major League Baseball Players Association last year an agreement that this year's draft could be cut to as few as 20 rounds.Apr 1, 2021

i actually like..this 20 round ..system better..cuz..you can sign free agents..after the draft..to fill any of the slots..you need to or..just cuz you have an interest..in that guy..usually..a pitcher..in that case

If a team that loses a qualifying free agent is a revenue-sharing recipient, and the lost player signs for at least $50 million, the team is awarded a compensatory pick between the first round and Competitive Balance Round A. If the player signs for less than $50 million, the compensation pick for the team comes after Competitive Balance Round B.

30 reds..as comp..for trevor bauer

All teams that have either one of the 10 smallest markets or 10 smallest revenue pools receive an additional pick at the end of the first or second round. In 2017, six picks were assigned between the first and second rounds based on a formula that considers winning percentage and revenue. The remaining eight eligible teams received a supplemental selection between the second and third rounds. The groups of teams alternate between the two rounds each year.
