He was at 94 pitches I believe- highest pitch count of the season so far. Only 1 out. If there was two outs, he probably would’ve let him pitch to one more batter to help him get a quality start…

Absolutely the pitch count is what led to him getting the axe.

Plus the lineup had all seen him in couple previous at bats. Time for a new look for the final few frames. That is the whole reason of having so many relievers on the 25 man roster.
