It's probably because they're all tech people who have no emotional attachment to the sport, or team for that matter. Also I doubt Stanton would want to sell. His investment is working well for him. For the fans? Not so much.

I get that but then Stanton and the ownership group can sell the majority of the team to those other guys and whichever guy sign the biggest check. My previous post was being an owner would be easy, I guess the only thing that be easier is being a minority owner where you get zero responsibility for all the anger from fans or failure of the team.

I know it is a lot more complex than how I am breaking it down but I know I had no idea who he was before he got majority control and I can guarantee he still made a ton of money as minority owner.

I agree he doesn't want to sell a guaranteed money maker, but Bezos did want to buy the Washington Commanders so he likes sports to some degree. Don't forget Paul Allen and Steve Balmer. Some nerds like owning sports since they couldn't play them when they were kids...lol.

I will say I think that Steve Balmer would've actually made a great owner. He's a big sports fan, he got the Clippers their own arena, and he's sparing no expense making sure it's the loudest and best venue in the NBA.

I agree, Seattle needs the Sonics to come back. It's a shame they left because I actually thought Kevin Durant would've played his entire career in Seattle.

I think the NBA wants their own arena separate from Climate Pledge Arena, formerly Key Arena. I think Climate Pledge is a great venue, and hopefully the NBA will approve expansion. I wouldn't be happy if we stole someone else's team like the Sonics were stolen from us.
