I totally get the it will be cheaper in the long run if the dudes actually pan out, but if they don’t it is a lot wasted money on unknown players as opposed to free agents who have shown the ability to play in the big leagues.

That is just my point, they “opened” up the checkbook for Jerry during the rebuild, he couldn’t sign 3 of them, has massively struck out with Evan White. Ray is a toss up at the moment but Jerry got them to open it up for him then a few months later he had to go back to the front office and say hey I need money for an ace….seems like a hard sell.

What I’m sick of is how negative I was for off-season, only to be suckered in and getting excited then this shit to happen. I equate it to the Mike Leach era of the Cougs. We would be front runners for the division and needed to win the Apple Cup to go to the CCG, could convince ourselves we would win this time then of course the games were what they were.

Obviously Jerry won’t fire himself, but Scott needs to be let go or something big needs to happen. Like the brawl last year and they got the Angels coming up but it would look dumb them picking a fight for no reason.

Good questions, but my response would be that Dipoto didn't give Servais a 100 win team, but he gave him a team that shouldn't be getting blown out on a regular basis. To be frank I don't know what the exact solutions are, but this is not a team that should be getting destroyed like they have been lately.

Both a very young. Especially Miller, he has been a starter at a high level for what 3 years now? I’m really not concerned at all with Kirby. On paper San Diego is better offensively than the Yankees and he did fine. It just happens but problem is with the Mariners is we as fans notice it a lot more because we have been conditioned if the other team gets 3 runs in the first few innings the game is basically over. That’s why the playoff game in Toronto was so amazing.

I get it that they're young, but we're obviously counting on them to be solid in order for us to compete/win... The point is, we can't rely on them to carry us when they're scheduled to start... Our offense has to do something to help the kids...

100% agree and that’s why I have disagreed with their whole philosophy. Relying strictly on great starters and relievers is great in the post season but you need at least a top 10-15 offense to get to the playoffs.

I really don’t like the whole analytic stats and run differential cause they have proven it wrong two years in a row. But the Angels and Rangers aren’t garbage this year and it isn’t an unbalanced schedule so they don’t get to pad wins with the A’s.
