Even if Manning did take banned substances, I would not blame him ... He had multiple neck surgeries, and was attempting to regain his health and well being .....
Is he supposed to risk the rest of his life by not taking something that the NFL bans - something that might be beneficial for him ?
It would be a travesty if down the line he realized that he could have healed better in the weeks following the surgery had he only received certain treatments ...... Sorry NFL, life comes first
I agree Lucas, and I think the NFL is too archaic in its Banned substances policy. Especially with all this head trauma stuff coming to light and what the NFL knew or didn't know. I don't smoke weed but do people really give a shit if an athlete does? What is performance enhancing about that? And as far as recovery, if the NFL took a responsible/common sense approach, under the supervision of sound medical procedures, they could take much better care of their players
At that point, Manning was probably shell shocked - he goes his entire career without missing a game - heck, he goes his entire life without some serious injury - and he's not only healing for his football career, but also his life ..
If he can't feel his fingertips now, it was probably pretty scary immediately following the 3rd or 4th surgery .. What is probably on his mind - and justifiably so - is regaining feeling and function of his nervous system ..
So if a doctor says that something might help in the healing and recovery - you gotta do it .... It's not as if he were in the locker room at halftime popping pills or receiving injections to amplify is performance for the 2nd half ...... It was surgery on his neck - multiple times - and whatever he took so be it
.. for crying out loud, if Manning was going to get some type of out of the ordinary treatment, he should have opted for the airway enlargement so he wouldn't choke so damn easy
What amazes me is the guy admitted he made the whole thing up yet the media (CNN for one) opens up story with all these allegations, sensationalize it, and at the end they go.." oh, by the way,so-so admitted he made it up". but were going to plaster it everywhere even though this Al Jazeera idiots are known for BS stories but we reserve the right to act like unprofessional, attention seeking media jerk offs. Tell ya the truth, I can`t stand to watch these news people anymore. All they care about is attention and ratings and who cares if the reporting is accurate, newsworthy or not, we`ll apologise later or push the blame somewhere else if were wrong or looked like fools. It`s disgusting anymore.
The whole story is BS...I and everyone else knew it when we heard it. Manning has something called integrity. It is rare these days but he has it in abundance.
