Factor in the fact that they play in the NFC East and I agree.

it wouldn't matter, new england has essentially owned the entire NFL over the past 16 years. Put them in any division and they'll likely be contending for that division every season, if not outright owning it. This graph details it all through the season before last, and of course, this past season was the same story yet again.

You're probably right, but the NFC East certainly makes it a bit easier.

That is impressive, but the first 8 years of that analysis, we had all bum qb's and I can only remember 2 games in Bmore, which I think we split....So given the fact that the majority of our games were with the Pats having HF advantage, makes sense.....And aren't we 2-2 in the playoffs ?

It absolutely does because they get the bye and HF almost every year in the playoffs because of weaker divisional opponents...But that's the hand they were dealt and they played it perfectly....:gaah:

Ok, and? "The first 8 years", lol thats a pretty big chunk of the window of time being discussed, no?

But yeah, kudos to the ravens for being pretty much the only afc opponent that has been able to do anything against the pats in the playoffs

If I am dealt ace, king suited every time, you will find me at the final table more times than not.

Pats are usually 4-2 vs the AFCE and 8-2 outside of the div each year

Not really an apt analogy, but ok

Go ahead Sonny, rub it in. You already won the SB. Now you gotta be better than every division/conference/etc?? No class dude... No class at all.

Obviously the NFCW were dealt 7-2 off suit the entire season, that explains them having the lowest combined wins in the
entire NFL.

While we're at it what does the NFCE have to do with this conversation anyway.

True, but if it's dealt to you everytime you aren't gonna say, I don't want these...Or it's unfair that I get these everytime....That's my point.
It's not their fault the other teams in that division haven't played as well as them.....Miami is the only 1 with any chance of unseating them unless Brady goes down IMO....

So if Butler is looking elsewhere like this I would say this supports the reports that he is not happy in New England. I mean if we think about this logically he wants the big deal and just watched as the Patriots paid another CB probably similar money to what he is looking for. Not exactly the best sign of respect to him as a player.

I hear the Bengals are thinking about giving him a look. The kid has stated that he would love to play for MB and Marvin Lewis. We have been freeing up some space, just not sure that he is a good fit.

If he got paid he would probably feel better. The Pats did give him a shot, made him a starter and have probably groomed him well doing it. There's no question Butler has done everything and more but I think he knows the Patriots are a good team to play for.. IF they would only pay a FAIR salary.. LOL.

Well from what I understand they offered him a deal where he was only going to make $6-7 million. That is maybe half of what he would make on the open market so I"m sure it felt a bit like an insult to get such an offer. Then throw in having the team turn around and pay a CB from another team $14 million yeah not the best feeling in the world.
