I don't believe anyone is suggesting he isn't a good player, only that he isn't an elite player.

Strongo said he was "Very average" which he was not. Not even close.

I don't see him being much more than avg., and keep in mind that is all you need in the modern NFL.

Would you consider Eddie Lacy or Frank Gore average?

Lacey consitently around 1100 - 1200 yards and avg of 6-7 tds per year = meh

Gore consistently around 1100 1200 yards and avg of 10 tds per year = slightly better than meh

It's not a position that is important in the NFL like it used to be.

Heres what I am saying...He is a matchup disaster for any LB or corner. In the flat he can catch and run and deliver a hit.

Yeah, if he travels to his new team in a time machine...

well, considering most smart people know its not a rushing league anymore...you are smart, right?

hey, i didnt make this shit up...

A 1,000-yard season just doesn't cut it anymore | News OK

Can we stop pretending that a 1,000 yard season is a big deal for an NFL runningback still? | IGN Boards

this is the most hilarious part:

Year after year, NFL running backs surge far past the 1,000-yard mark that has been the measuring stick for success. Many of those runners, though, acknowledge that shooting for 1,000 yards these days is aiming for mediocrity.

"That was the standard when it was a 12-game season, the Giants' Tiki Barber says. "That was exceptional, 1,000 yards in 12 games. Now, how many guys in the league have 1,000? It's still something to be proud of, but I think the guys who have done it, they look to get significantly past it, 1,400 yards, 1,600 yards. I'm of that same mentality.

Rock, are you forgetting Rice's production as a receiver?

He's had 2000 all purpose yard seasons before. Rice wasn't the best runner, but he was a complete RB.

But, I think this is a little out of place. Rice WAS a great player. He is not even an average player at this point IMO. I don't think he ever starts again in the NFL

I'm not sure he was even a "great" player, but a little above avg.

I think thats fair...I do disagree with him starting I think if he gets a real chance he will. We shall see I hope he doesnt land in the AFCN though.

I'm not going to get into semantics, but Rice was a definitely one of the top backs in this league for a few years. You can't discount his contributions in the passing game. I am not saying he had a great career or will go down as a great player because it was only like a 3 year period. But, IMO he was great for those years.

Honest question. Who had to see the second video to know Rice KNOCKED his GF OUT?
