Wasn't sure if the site was going to go offline or not. Just wanted to cover my bases.

And yes, I was a Peter Sidorkiewicz fan when I was very young.

I didn't expect to hear that name, even on the hockey board!

I'm obviously not as big a hockey fan as I thought... sorry for the panic, I had no clue what either of you were talking about. He must not have been any good on SEGA

I've got a little time. Why not?

I'll tell you that my friends and I would sneak into The Arena in Binghamton, NY, with our skates and sticks and skate around with the Whalers before and after their practices. One of my buddies has an uncle, Randy McGregor, who played for the Broome Dusters - which became the Binghamton Whalers. That was our ticket to everything hockey. I took shots on a lot of goalies who were in the AHL and NHL while growing up. Got to meet and skate around with lots of great players - Ross Yates (I think I was in 8th or 9 grade), Peter Sid, Ulf Samuelson, Dan Silk, Sylvain Cote, I doubt I'm spelling the names correctly. Grant Jennings, BRUCE SHOEBOTTOM! Sean Cronin. I know I'm forgetting a lot of names. These guys also lived on my side of town and would often play street hockey with us as well.

Lots of great hockey memories. I think I've already told the story about my buddy's dad who reached over the glass and grabbed Bennett Wolf's stick. He wouldn't let go! He finally let go. Security tried to escort him out, but the crowd started going nuts. He was a big deal in our town, so they let him sit back down.

I made out and felt some boobies on a Whaler-ette during a bus trip to Hartford when I was 15! (probably my best story).

Ahhh memories.

That is awesome! I wish I could have grown up in a hockey hotbed. Somehow, Salem, Oregon will probably never be that.

Oh wow... This should provide some background to my story...

[Randy MacGregor (born July 9, 1953 in London, Ontario) was a professional ice hockey player. Randy played Junior Hockey in Ontario, before going pro with the Broome Dusters (Binghamton, NY) of the North American Hockey League in 1973. He skated much of his professional career in Binghamton.

Randy met Margaret (Peggy) Killeen, daughter of the Arena's Box Office Manager Dorothy Killeen, while playing in Binghamton. The two would marry on March 15, 1975. The young couple welcomed a son, Justin, into the Binghamton hockey family a day shy of their 2nd Wedding Anniversary, March 14, 1977.

Randy would make the transition with the Dusters later that year from the now defunct NAHL to the American Hockey League. The Dusters became the Whalers in 1980 and Randy would spend part of the 1980–81 season in Klagenfurt, Austria. He would return to Binghamton later that season, but would end his career in 1985 in Glens Falls, NY with the Adirondack Red Wings.

Following his playing days, Randy returned to his adopted hometown of Binghamton. In the mid-90's Randy and Peggy would divorce after 20 years of marriage. Randy, a contractor and a coach in the Syracuse Stars minor hockey system, continues to reside in the area. His son Justin, is a radio dj with Q107 WRRQ-FM in Binghamton and works with the Binghamton Senators hockey club. Now calling Vestal home, Randy and girlfriend Lynn Walsh have a son, Dillon, who continues the family's hockey tradition into the new millennium as a member of the Vestal High School hockey team and the Syracuse Stars.

In 1984, Randy MacGregor's #11 became the only jersey in Binghamton Hockey History to be retired to the rafters. (It was unretired by the Rangers' organization in 1991)

In 1998, Randy MacGregor was the first player inducted into the Binghamton Hockey Hall of Fame. Also part of the Hall of Fame's inaugural class was Broome Dusters' founder Jim Matthews and Detroit Red Wings General Manager Ken Holland, who spent much of his playing career in Binghamton.]

holy shit, I thought Wayne Maki's was the only honoured jersey number that Messier's ego desecrated.
