you are lost in the abyss that is luongo hatred without even knowing why except he was taken off your team and came with hype that you hate. man

Please tell me what Luongo has done for the Canucks that's been so great? I don't hate the guy. I just think he's overrated. How many playoff failures does he need to have for people to realize this?

Sorry for not believing he can lead a team to the Cup. It's just how I feel.

Well, he got damn close (a lot closer than Nabokov is likely to get). And I would argue that 2006 Sharks team was just as talented a team as the Canucks team that faced the Bruins in the finals. Tim Thomas was lights out in the SCF.

Sure Thomas was lights out. Isn't that how Luongo was supposed to play?

Maybe Nabby will get traded at the deadline to a contender. If not he might not get another chance to play in the playoffs.

We don't know where Luongo is going to end up. We know he would like to play for the Panthers. If he goes to Florida he will have a chance to do some big things just like with Vancouver. If he goes to Toronto, those chances go down quite a bit.

my prediction: Lou is gonna be lights out thanks to working with Allaire again during the lockout and having this extremely big burr in his heiny (not alex) , canucks are gonna play ugly defensive hockey and win games 3-2 and 2-1 like they did in Lous first year and i have this feeling Vigneault gives him back his starters job

at the end of the season they trade him because he asked to be traded from the get-go

I agree with a lot of the above, although I wonder if Bobby Lou might get moved at the trade deadline (price may never be higher and with a short season, not much separation between teams).

its pointless to debate with you on this matter. and you DO hate him you have done nothing BUT hate him the whole time Ive ever read your posts on Luongo. You wish for him to fail. If he wins with you its Hes on a stacked team. if he loses its his fault.

He was outplayed by Niemi, Thomas & Quick.

so was Kiprusoff, Nabakov, Leighton, and Price, Bobrovsky, Roloson and Smith, Brodeur and Elliot/Halak so whats the point now none of those teams that lost to the players Luongo lost to were as stacked as Vancouver and as a result we should have 3 cups?

This isn't personal. I don't hate him. He just hasn't lived up to the hype. I don't have a problem with the Canucks. I think the Sedin's & Kesler are outstanding players.

I think he would do a lot better in Florida than in Toronto. Not so much because of the team in front of him but from the lack of pressure from the fans and the media.

I dont think what the leafs are suposdly balking at (bozak, kadri and a 2nd rounder) is a prospect gutjob

Especially when u consider how brutally theyve publically handled kadri

I didn't know what exactly the offer was suppose to be. No 1st rounder doesn't make it quite as bad as I thought. The Leafs are already pretty poor in the prospects department. Then again, they are pretty poor as far as current team status goes too.

Regular season stats mean nothing. They're just numbers for the history books. It's all about the postseason. He's had good chances to get it done with the Canucks. Hopefully he gets plenty more with them or another team.

there isn't a forehead big enough for this facepalm.
he has earned his place in the history books by being one of the premiere goaltenders in the league for a long time.
but no cup, so he's overrated / average / garbage depending on your mood?

has Cujo had a meaningless career because he never won a cup? Vanbeisbrouk? Hextall?
is this just goalies, or players too? Pat Lafontaine had a nothing career? Gilbert Perreault? Mike Gartner? Marcel Dionne? Sundin?

It wasn't fair of the experts to compare Luongo to Patrick Roy. Comparisons in general aren't fair. He was put on a pedestal. He hasn't lived up to it. Hopefully he wins a cup. Time will tell.

I'm not even going to respond to the other stuff. This is about Luongo, nobody else.

BUT ITS THE SAME ARGUMENT which shows that you are personally against Luongo because of what other people tagged him. Ive never heard him say Im the new Roy I will win 5 cups. you are judging him and even alluding to Nabakov being better earlier in this argument which shows that your argument on this is fairly weak. the other stuff is 100% the same argument but because he never won a cup (a gold medal yes... but wait he was surrounded by great players and when he is surrounded by great players and doesn't win the cup hes not good enough for you). if you answer yes they are all failures because they didnt win cups then quite honestly you need to reevaluate how you judge talent, skill and their impact on the game and their teams.
