Now Gillis can shop him for the RIGHT deal, not the right now deal. If he can't find it no one really made the step of asking for a trade, so Lou can save face coming back to the team.

I think you are both over reacting to that statement. so he says no I won't waive he is selfish if he says yes as 35 is as great as he is and he's got no balls or a bad attitude.

He didn't have to say anything to the media though. He could have dealt with this one-on-one with Gillis.

There is no need to elaborate like he did either. Even if he says he'd waive his NTC he could still say that he thinks he could best help the team by being in great shape for camp, or that competition is a great thing, etc.

yah you are right ... i probably am over-reacting ... Luongo can't win with anything he says ... when you just see that one comment ... it just doesnt seem like he has the fire to fight for his job ... like he's re-signed to the fact he is going to be moved

a possibility to be sure. and with his comments today he gives the canucks a nice out and both look good and stay classy.

Luongo is NO longer a member of this team in my mind in the sense that its a matter of where he goes not when now. thanks for the years Luongo Ill always cheer for him.

and unlike Cody ... Luongo has been a good soldier for the canucks no matter how many perceived failures from fans and media alike ... Gillis wouldnt throw him under the bus after the fact
