Not surprised, that's where he was pegged to be when he was acquired. Hope he gels well with Gaborik and Kopitar. Gaborik will most likely be moved back to RW, where he has played most of his career anyway.

That line has a great combination of size, physicality, skill and speed. Hope it translates well, the Kings need to improve goal scoring (don't we say this every year?).

Carter will center Toffoli and Pearson again as well, that's a solid top 6.

Doesn't that make Brown, Lewis and King the third line?
That second line needed protected minutes last year. They were run and gun a bit and not really known for defense. I could see the 2nd and third lines with equal minutes.

I wonder if Carter is going to be butt hurt because of the Richards situation. I hope not, but that has been bothering me.

Carter has really shed his label as a one way guy who hot dogs it or doesn't give it everything. His SH TOI was 115:23, second on the team only to Kopitar.

I see that guy hustling back into the defensive zone to help out, gutting it out in the corners and it's always a treat watching him take like 2-3 strides and he in full flight pulling away from someone. His speed is a huge asset to the team as we know, but also something he has that a lot of players don't is the reach. Seeing him use that and either shield the puck or simply finesse it around someone is fun to watch.

Toffoli is turning into a solid player, I had some doubts about him a few years ago when he tore it up but then went flat for some time. He really has turned it on, and he will be a fun player to watch for a while. Pearson, I still need to see more - he was on a torrid pace to score to start the season but got cold even before the broken leg. He has promise but I think the Kings need to see more out of him.

Toffoli saw the 6th most SH TOI for LA last season at 75:31 behind Kopitar, Carter, Stoll, Brown and Lewis.

Doubt it. They are close friends but both also have acknowledged it's a business. Didn't affect Carter at all last season when Richards was gone after January, can't see it affecting him now.
