Yea, we are looking good. WE are missing Avery's defense as Cook and Caruso are not as adept at D but we are still doing well and this is damn good to watch, FINALLY!

Another brilliant win against the Thunder. AD and LeBron did most of the scoring as AD had an All-Star night. We do a home-and-home Friday night against the same Thunder. Should be interesting as we are a half-game ahead of Boston and sit atop all of the West. I love it!

We were 9-7 last year at this time. It feels soooo good to be 12-2.

Just three months before, they were meeting at an undisclosed location to hatch a plan. Leonard reached out to George "a good four or five days" before the July 5 trade, recruiting him to do what they couldn't back in 2017 -- join forces.

"We met up and we talked," George said recently. "Before the trade, [even] before everything was in talks."

Together, they have a chance to do something never done with the Clippers.

Paul George and Kawhi Leonard were 'destined' to play together

This is very interesting read. George felt hurt because Magic did not push hard enough for him in 2017. He and Leonard met 5 days before free agency to hatch a plan to sign with Clipper. I knew Kawahii played us.

Lol. Meeting with PG doesn't mean he played the Lakers. He didn't want to do the super team thing (which is what we'd have had with AD and Lebron already here), but he didn't want to go to the Clips by himself.

If anything...blame OKC. Who the fuck signs a star level player and trades them after 1 year?

It appears George felt burned by Magic not go hard after him. I agree OKC was stupid. If they traded him to the east that would have been ok. On the Kawaii situation. If he did not want to do the Super team thing, why did he even entertain playing with Lakers when he knew we already had Davis??? He had no intention of coming here IMO. George said they met 5 days before free agency and discussed playing for the Clippers.

Yeah, I've never understood PG getting in his feels over that. Why give up assets for a guy just to get him a little sooner, when you can get him after the season without giving anything up?

Kawhi considered the Lakers because he didn't want to go to the Clippers by himself and have no real shot at a title.

Better to win a title on a super team than not win one with a good team.

I don't get what OKC is looking to do. Even with losing Westbrook and PG, they're a solid, competitive team. If they still had PG, they'd be really good.

I agree. They felt strongly they would get him as a free agent, so why give up assets? George is very wishi washi IMO. He stood up on that stage in OKC the summer of 18 and declared his devotion for OKC. He should get booed non stop on his return to OKC. Moreover, I still like our duo better than George and Kawhi. Rob deserves props. I also have not questioned our coach's moves as much as with Luke LOL. So far the coaches are doing a great job with this team.

Yeah, I agree on PG being wishy washy. I also don't think he looked at it logically. By just being patient, he could have gone to a stronger team than he would have if they traded for him. The Lakers would have gotten him, Lebron and kept the assets the assets they would have given up for him.

Then he goes to OKC and wants out after a year. Tells me that he may very well have left the Lakers and then they wouldn't have him or the assets they had given up for him.

I like our duo better, I just wish Lebron was about 5 years younger. lol

Of course, he's playing like he's 5 years younger anyway.

I like the coaching staff more than I expected to. A lot of veteran coaches.

To be fair to Luke, he wasn't coaching the experienced team that Vogel and his guys have. Guys like Lebron and Rondo are practically coaches themselves and then add that it's a veteran roster...I'm not sure how much coaching is necessary. lol

Good points on Luke. I was also surprised at the loudness of the Boston Fans last night for a Clippers home game with George and Kawahi together for the first time. The Clipper really need to move out of LA to get full support LOL. They should relocate to hungry Seattle.

I think the Clippers really messed up back when Anaheim was trying to get them to come there.

They wanted them and the Ducks to play in what is now The Honda Center and have a sports/entertainment area with the Clippers, Ducks, Angels, movie theater, restaurants, etc. But Sterling wanted to stay in LA.

At least Ballmer is moving them out of Staples. Problem is, he wants to move them to Inglewood where the Lakers first established their hold on LA.

If I were him, I'd revisit the Anaheim thing. Maybe see if I could partner with the Ducks and do a complete renovation on The Honda Center. It's still a nice venue, but needs some upgrades to get on par with some of the newer arenas. Orange County is still "Lakers Territory" but not nearly like LA. So they would have a much easier time gaining a foothold. Kind of like the Angels to the Dodgers. There are a lot of folks in OC that would rather go to an NBA game in Anaheim than LA.

Would cost a helluva lot less than building a new one too.

Imo, the only chance the Clippers have to ever even make a dent in the Lakers hold on LA would be for them to have about a 10 year period where they win 3 or 4 titles and the Lakers are barely a playoff team.

I would do the same thing. He should look at Anaheim. It is too late now I think. The Clippers will never be as popular as the Lakers in LA. I think they had their chances from 2012 to 2018. That window has now closed. The door’s closed, the lights are out, the eggs are cooling, the butter’s getting hard and the jello’s jiggling.

Looking back - Magic Johnson made a mistake in not giving up the core to get Paul George - but I do like the combo Anthony Davis and Lebron better then the Paul George and Lebron combo. I think Davis is a better fit. Looking at the free agency, I think the Lakers already had the role players lined up pretty good and asked everyone to wait just in case they did get Kawhi Leonard - but I seriously doubt that they even met with Paul George and I doubt they thought Leonard was anything better than a long shot. The Moves the Lakers made quickly tells me the Lakers already had things lined up which was smart and encouraging because to me it means they knew Leonard might be playing them which I think he was

Inglewood is a better fit for the Clippers then Anaheim in my opinion - Either way - Southern Ca belongs the Lakers. If the Clippers really wants to get out of the Lakers shadows - San Diego would welcome them

6 straight wins and we stand alone with the NBA's best record at 13-2. We have a back-to-back with Memphis tomorrow and then we get San Antonio on Monday. I think we will be alright and may come out of this stint 15-2.

I see your point, but they still missed out on better talented free agents due to waiting on Kawaii. However, their plan B was good one.

It's a toss up, but most of those others went so fast, I got the feeling that none of the better talent had the Lakers on their radar. I would say a trade is always possible by February, but I think that is highly unlikely because of the team being so new. As a player I would be upset to be trade so quickly - and that would generate distrust by future players

They did go super fast. I think the only way they make a trade in Feb is due to injury. This team is pretty much set.
