AD makes a jumper and the lead is just 2 as the third comes to a close.

Very nice third period as we come all the way back to tie the game at 85. Who wants the opener here in the fourth.

It was Danny Green who started draining threes with occasional jumpers by AD that brought us back in the third.

Krap. Dwight Howard gets a dunk and a jump shot blocked and the Clips go up by 4.

The Clips score 7 unanswered points off of miscues and we are now down again. I hope this isn't the holdover from last year where we go into the fourth quarter fade routine.

Once again, turnovers down the stretch are killing us.

The lead is back to a 11 as it looks like we have reverted to the usual fadeaway late in the fourth.

Just like the last five years, the Lakers faded in the fourth and lose the opener by 10. Kawhi had an off night shooting but others stepped-up and made shots when we didn't. Turnovers also killed us in the fourth and LeBron had several. Still have not fixed some of the enduring problems of the Lakers. Only one game but if this continues we will not have the year everyone has been forecasting.

i just want to make playoffs. But like you said , we continue the 4th quarter fade for 6 years. Bench was outscored big time.

KCP 27 minutes 0 points. And Kawahi killed him in the second quarter. Captain Clank at his best.

KCP and Quinn Cook struggled mightily. Danny Green almost single-handlely brought us back in the third. He didn't get much help in the fourth and LeBron actually committed two key TOs late in the fourth that didn't help much.

Like you stated Tomodach our bench was out-scored 60-19. And of course the Lakers just don't play D very long either. If these things don't get remedied, we ain't going to make the postseason.

An awful lot of Kawhi's points came off of screens. I liked KCP's effort defensively (he's just not good enough to shut down Kawhi, but then again who is?), and he only 0-3 offensively. I didn't like re-signing him, but I won't gripe over his play last night. Working that hard defensively, it's difficult to have any energy left for offense. I think I only screamed at the TV once for a shot way too early in the shot clock, so that's progress.....lol.

Kuz and Rando are injury prone. This is getting old.

I recently read an article that indicated Vogel screwed-the-pooch in substitutions in the second half of the Clip joint game. The article made the point that Vogel kept substituting KCP for Danny Green when Green was red hot and nearly single-handedly brought us back in the third to tie the game. The most blatant error took place in the fourth when Vogel sent KCP in for Green middle-to-late in the gamé when KCP had gone ofer for the game and Green was hitting threes. The article continued that this sort of coaching BS may have been influenced by Rich Paul, KCP's agent in addition to being AD's agent. The author stated that that sort of move reminded him of Luke Walton and if the sort of thing continues and we lose to Utah, he suggested that Vogel may be out the door in favor of one of the bevy coaching all-stars that ride the bench with Vogel. Whether any of this has any basis is arguable but it does raise questions about the outcome of that game and its alternative result.

I won't give him grief on the first game. The problem is without two key players, Rondo, Kuz, it hurts us more then the Clippers not having George. They have a deeper bench then the Lakers. We have to be at full strengh to beat them IMO and guys have to hit open shots period. I wish we never pursued Leonard. Depth is critical.
