Didn't really matter that McCarthy sucked or not, we would have lost anyway since we couldn't even put 1 run on the board.

Talking shit aside, no run support is at least as bad as McCarthy. Shit, McCarthy is going to have a bad night. Having the entire offense take a shit? That's really inexcusable. Credit Ryu, he had his stuff going, but when you can't even get a guy to stand on 2nd base at any point in the game, that's unacceptable. 2 hits and 2 walks all game. That's what broke up the no no or the perfecto. And as a Dodgers fan, I'm not sure that Ryu's stuff was that good. AZ has more than enough bats with Trumbo, Goldy, Parra, Prado, Pollock, Hill, Montero, and Owings. All of those guys (except for Trumbo) are .270 career hitters, or better. That's the entire line up besides the pitcher. Gotta have more production than 2 hits, 2 BB, and 11 SO.

The problem is that the Diamondbacks offense is sick of the pitching staff. Every damn game the starting pitching gives up runs at the beginning of the game. They have done it for a couple of years now. Now the starting rotation is worse than ever. At some point, the offense probably just stops caring. They are not digging in and grinding out at-bats because they know that the pitching is just going to blow the game anyway. This Diamondbacks team is one of the worst teams in baseball. It is certainly the worst starting rotation I have ever seen. 13 games and only two quality starts. There is not one guy that you can legitimately rely on where you can say, if he is pitching today, the Diamondbacks win.

In 2011, when Kennedy and Hudson would pitch, you would say, the Diamondbacks have a great chance of winning today. Before them, you had Dan Haren when he was really good. Before Haren, you had Brandon Webb for several years. Before Webb, you had Randy Johnson and Curt Schilling. Now who do the Diamondbacks have? No one. It is pathetic.

By the way, if Ryu was on the Diamondbacks, he would be the ace. He would be the best starter they had. On the Dodgers, he is the number three or four pitcher, which shows how much better the Dodgers starting rotation is than the Diamondbacks.

Our only chance of winning 1 game this series is tonight.

I noticed we have our power hitters tonight in the line-up.

Miley .500

Campana .417

Pennington .364

Anyway, at least it won't be so one sided tonight.

I get it, and for the most part, that's true. But it's a bullshit excuse, on their part. That's a really fucked up mentality. "Yeah, I fucking sucked in 2014 at the plate, because our pitching sucked." Guys are mostly still trying to secure contracts and stats, in addition to winning. It puts even more pressure on the coaches, front office, and pitchers, to hold up their end of the deal, because the guys are still battling at the plate, and doing their part.

Besides, when Randy Johnson, and then Webb, were the aces, the DBacks still sucked from '03-'06. And that's counting when Johnson threw the perfecto (2004). In that same year, Johnson had a 2.60 ERA, but only went 16-14 because he couldn't get any run support to save his life. And to a lesser extent, it was the same with Webb. He had a 3.10 ERA in 2006, but only went 16-8.

That's the mentality that Kevin Towers has created. He wanted gritty and he got soft instead.
