At least the Sox "ace" didn't lose to the marlins last night. So there's that. Which is nice.
the Red Sox don't even exist on the MLB landscape these days , they're as irrelevant as ever and it's getting worse.
Yeah, in a positive note, the Red Sox have young talent at catcher, shortstop, outfielders, and Pedroia at 2nd. Brian Johnson playing well in AAA, Owens is getting results although struggling with his control (he's only 22), and Rodriguez has shown flashes of excellenceIt's just amazing how literally everything that could go right for the 2013 Red Sox. Meanwhile, most players on the 2012/2014 (and currently '15) teams have underachieved even the most conservative projections. Bad luck, but some of it could also be attributed to roster construction.

I'll say this with NO hesitation - Rodriguez has IT and I believe he could be great in a short period of time.Yeah, in a positive note, the Red Sox have young talent at catcher, shortstop, outfielders, and Pedroia at 2nd. We don't need all of Trey Ball, Brian Johnson, Owens, and Rodriguez to all turn out to be aces. Red Sox haven't won 3 World Series by developing pitching talent. It's great to see Pedroia's wrist finally healed and he's been hitting very well. Defense has taken a step or two back though. Bogaerts has shown huge improvement defensively and in cutting down on strikeouts. Hopefully last night's HR marks the end of his power drought.
Owens' struggles worry me a bit though. He's still very young for AAA, but it's not very encouraging to see his K/9 and BB/9 get drastically worse.
see " MLB landscape" . You're just another Boston candyass who can't accept the fact your team sucks. Keep crying , no one is listening and it won't make your gang of failures any better. The good news is the basement is always cooler during those hot summer months , enjoy. And yet you made a thread about them. Better double check what the word irrelevant means.

if you had seen any of my Yankee comments this yr you would know I have been saying the same thing since the snow was balls deep. The Yanks are getting by with smoke and mirrors but not for much longer. They simply aren't very good and have overachieved so far. Gravity will take over soon and they will disappear for the important part of the season. Still , they won't drop to the level the Sox have been since Day 1 , they're much better than one of the worst teams in baseball. But you know that.

And yes Pedroia seems to not be making all the plays he used to make, and it isn't like he isn't getting to the ball so I don't feel like he's slowing down. Finally Farrell moved Bogaerts up in the lineup. Watching him bat 7th for the first 1/3 of the season was frustrating as hell.

Is this SPBC from the old CBS boards?
And when do we hear it is better to lose 100 then 78. Because you get a better draft pick.
The only one that overrates prospects is the front office. How many prospects have we given up in trades that we regret now? I know we are all teary eyed over not having Casey Kelly...Sadly, Owens has gone from "our Kershaw" to Felix Doubront in 3 years. We need to stop overrating all of these prospects. Most of them turn out to be garbage.
Nah that's not me. I was a regular on here a while ago but then with a new baby at home and such, I took a break. I used to be on the ESPN boards for a while, back with the old crowd of guys like steveringo, ImSmartherThanYou, DragonfromTO, and YellowStoneRitter. Wonder where those guys are now.Is this SPBC from the old CBS boards?

StanMarsh is another guy, I remember him. YellowStone was this comedy writer from Vegas who would come up with these crazy baseball facts. He wrote a couple books with Rollie Fingers a while back. Dude had some cool ass stories.I see Steve Ringo every now and again.Smarter shows up about every six months. Dragon is still around and the other guy I have never heard of. StanMarsh is up here a lot, he was another one from ESPN.
Congrats on the baby.

I remember we did a historical Hall of Fame vote a while back. Where else am I going to get into a debate on whether or not Deacon White deserves to be a Hall of Famer?Congrats man. It's good to have you back on here.
