Not true, were one Howard injury away from the top pick.
I disagree. Best case scenario for us will be ending the season around where we are now. It took a ton of injuries to get to the third pick. If Howard gets injured and online stays healthy, we have RB depth that can succeed. We're not quite a shit show like a lot of other basement dwellers in the league.

Outside of Howard we have nothing at RB. We have no TE and no No.1 or No.2 WRs, and both tackles are weak spots and Glennon at QB. Look I aint down on Da Bears, but we are years away from being good and 1 key injury away from next years No.1 pick. Just think if Glennon and or Howard gets hurt. Could you imagine Sanches and Langford starting. lol fk me.

You can't bank on them being terrible though. It's why I think they need to get a QB this draft.

You don't grab a QB for the sake of just grabbing a QB. A good promising one has to be there. And every QB in this draft is questionable at best.

We can't screw up the #3 pick overall. We can not. Therefore you cannot take a QB there.

I swear beating SF may have been the biggest blunder last season. Now they are saying the Browns (who are run by monkeys) may not draft Garett #1 overall. Man, what a gift that would cause to land in SF's lap.

I'm not saying we grab a QB with our top pick. I wouldn't mind Watson because I still think he could be great if he had time to learn, but he doesn't have to be the QB we take. We need competition for the position. We need someone who is going to challenge the starter from day 1. The ship has sailed on that for this coming year unless we take one with our top pick. Neither Mark Sanchez or TJ Yates are going to take the position from Glennon unless he gets injured. Getting someone the FO likes will start to foster a competition for the next few years. Look what NE is doing. They took Brissett and Garapolo in 2014 and 2016 drafts even though they have Tom Brady. They look ready for Brady to retire now. Look at Green Bay before Favre left. Everyone remembers Aaron Rodgers falling to them in 2005, but they also drafted Ingle Martin in 06 and Brian Brohm in 08, within three years after drafting Rodgers, and they were taken before Rodgers became full time starter. I am a firm believer that the competition that fostered helped Aaron Rodgers become as good as he is. The bears don't need their Aaron Rodgers from this draft, but they could take the Brian Brohm to Aaron Rodgers this year, and then next year get their Aaron Rodgers. I know one thing, if we don't draft a QB, we will not be any closer to a franchise QB. Even taking a Davis Webb or a Brad Kaaya would start that transition.

I believe we will take a QB at 3 If the one Pace wants is there. I believe the reason we got Glennon is so a rookie can sit a year as none of these guys are ready to start.

Not true, were one Howard injury away from the top pick.

We are not sure he will know what to do with the third pick, This year, no doubt whatsoever that the BPA at 3 will probably be the running back Fournette, right? We dont need a running back. There are 3 safeties that can go in the top 10, maybe 2 CB's, we need that position, if we needed that and had the #1, would he take him? No, you gotta take the BPA. This year no doubt its Myles Garrett, but do you change to a 4-3 to take him? Change to a 4-3 for Allen"

Just seems like there are just as many problems with picking high, than picking in the teens.

Top pick next year is clear and it's at QB. This year there is no clear choice.

What if all the quality QBs are gone by the time we draft next year? Also, wasn't this year's QB class supposed to be awesome at this time last year?

I mean, we had like every starter go down besides Howard. I don't know why you would have to make up a hypothetical injury to him.

Our line still run blocked well enough to probably win against the three teams we beat. Those three games, we also dominated defensively. We gave up 6 (punt return the lone TD), 10 and 6... so...

We were an injury to Howard away from being worse, sure... but by that same logic. We we could hypothetically make-up scenarios where we stayed healthy, and improved upon a 2015 where we certainly were not a pushover.

We have a good running game and a lot of pieces in place on D. This isn't baseball, those pieces we still need on offense can come quicker than you think.

You assume far too much in the NFL. You have no idea how Glennon will play, or what the hell this team will look like a year from today.

No I'm talking next year there are multiple top QBs to be drafted. I was not talking our first pick or about our team but about the draft. As in no one knows if this years QB are first rounders and next year we know they are.

Ya I was not meaning QB for us next year. I was referring to next year being a stronger QB class coming out and knowing some of them are sure early first rounders. Not a single QB this year is considered first round talent. Many will go in the first because the league is QB starved but none are graded first rounders. Next year will have QBs rated as early first rounders.

Well, shit... of course we get the #3 pick in the year with no QB's. We'll probably win just enough to fall towards the middle of the pack and not sniff a playoff spot.

Not sure when this site was last updated.......http://walterfootball.com/draft2017S.php,but it says Hooker had surgery and could be out 4-6 mos.?
That very well could slide him down the draft board.......He maybe there for the taking at our 2nd pick....maybe.

I think with Hooker,Adams,Peppers and Obi all being projected for a 1st or 2nd rd picks,i believe all four will not be picked by the time our 2nd pick gets there.Thats when we should draft a s.........

I`d rather our 1st being something of more than a db.......not sure who yet,but yeah more than just a db.

If it's a CB it will be Lattimore.

I could still see them going with Jonathan Allen or if Cleveland or SF reach for a QB or Fournette, Solomon Thomas could fall to us, and that would be pretty difficult to pass on.

Kinda starting to get excited. I love the Draft.

This is why we should have stuck with Cutler, atleast one more year

Considering TJ Yates plays for the Bills. It would certainly be quite the accomplishment if he upended Glennon for the Bears job.

Also, the huge difference between the Bears and those two teams? Those two teams are/were SB contenders when they took those QB's. They could afford to do that. We have half of a fucking team dude. We need to build that before we take a QB to sit on our bench.

Also, Jimmy G and Rodgers were taken by those teams because they fell well past their projected draft position. They fell RIGHT into those two teams laps, and they could afford to forgo their top needs and draft them because they were already very good.

Drafting any QB at #3 would be a reach, and the total opposite of what those two teams did. In every way, shape and form.

I thought they signed TJ Yates for some reason. Either way, those two teams are largely successful because they have an elite QB. As far as personnel go, the rest of their teams are subpar. NE has a HOF coach that helps them succeed, but GB without Rodgers is a sorry ass football team. If the front office thinks one of the first round QBs can be good, they should take him at 3. The rest of the team can be built through the rest of this draft and future drafts. Saying we have to build a good team before taking a shot at QB is dumb IMO.
