80% of the johnny-come-lately heat fans have never been to the state of Florida much less a heat game.

THe NBA is 4th on my sports interest list and I am a Blazers fan. LeBron is my favortie player in the league. I live in Oregon.... Never been to Florida.... But I was on the Heat gravy train since mid season as Portland wasnt going to make the Playoffs... What am I supposed to do? Give up on the NBA for the season????

Two things I'd like to add. First off, why the huge use of CAPS on words in sentences? I'm seeing it A TON in this thread. Every 7th word doesn't NEED to be put in CAPS to emphasize your points. We GET it.

Secondly, I don't hate the Heat, I don't hate Lebron. I really don't even watch the NBA for what it has turned in to. What I don't really like is the media's portrayal of Lebron and the Heat, as if there isn't another team or player we're supposed to like. Kinda like the portrayal the media puts on New England and Brady.

Lebron is a once in a genrational player. His talent is amazing. But we don't need the media to shove him down our throats. I know this media crush will never stop, but I'm just giving my $.02

I dunno. I'd say the "hate" comes from fans like the ones you typically see on here. The majority of paid media is all about talking Lebron up. Sure they question him from time to time, but my point is that there are other players and teams in the NBA.

Like I said, I don't hate lebron(that word gets waaaaaay overused), just the nonstop coverage they put on him. These finals were portrayed more about whether Lebron would step up or choke than about which team would prevail.

Bro Seriously? THe commercials of LeBron are for one reason.... TO sell merchandise. The best athlete in the world (King James) happens to be loved World Wide.

They dont use LeBron on commercials as a way to spin him into some media created great. He is great, people love him, people talk about him, and he sells merchandise.

And as far as the media.... Look at every sports chat board today and last night light up like a Christmas tree. Every fan both casual and hardcore want to put there two cents in on James. The numbers are ridiculous for web hits, radio listners, tv viewers etc. Why? lovers, haters of James want to hear about LeBron James.

He is NOT a media created anything.

You should take a class in business. Or at least wiki how sports marketing works.
