The Wiz is a good OC. But he is terrible at developing players. He won in AZ with Denny "They are who we thought they were!" Green's players. If MM is going to succeed, It's going to be with another coach.

There isn't a single head coach in the league better-suited to Mariota than Whisenhunt.

Unfortunately, that's the way the NFL is today. If you get drafted by a bad team your chance of being a long time starter as a QB is very low. I hate the "play them immediately" mind set. I think rookies should sit for half a year minimum, longer for QBs. If we look at the really good passers down the years a good majority of them sat behind a veteran for a year or two before taking the reins. I am quite frankly tired of the NFL chewing up rookie QBs and discarding them.

Thats not what you said. You said being drafted by a bad team hurts your chances your chances of being a long term starter.

Eli Manning, Phillip Rivers, and Ben Roethlisberger all went to bad teams and Ben went 13-0 leading that team to the playoffs. A talented rookie on a bad will still be a long time starter.

You are correct. Worst line in the league although near the top in money spent on the line and draft picks spent on it which shows that just because you throw resources there it doesn't guarantee anything. Our GM he did good picking the QB's the past two years but until he and Whisenhunt are gone i just don't see us winning as much as we should.

No, I'm say that there a very good possibility a rookie QB forced to start from game one on a bad team gets injured. Which in turn could end his career prematurely. Looking at the way the Titans o-line was blocking in that game I could see Mariota getting injured very easily this year.

History has shown good rookie QB's take a beating thier first couple of years then become long time very good to great qb's. Bad QB's are bad QB's no matter what the rest of the team is.

Yes, but the more beating they take the higher chance for a career ending injury. With modern medicine it's less likely but still a possibility. I think if Mariota avoids the big injuries he will turn the tide for Tennessee.
