He is going to med school after he retires. Not a bad fall back plan.

it's not going to go over all too well in here, more than likely, but like you and I had talked, if you believe player x is your starter and you don't see him being available at next rounds pick, You Draft Him.

At least the Lions will have one guy on the OL smart enough to learn Lombardi's scheme.

I wonder if Mayhew can resist trading up for Coleman?

At first notice of that trade, I was WTF but after a couple minutes it dawned on me as a valuable depth move. Sure, we could have asked for their this years #28 +#92 (3rd round pick) swapping out our 5th round this yr and next years 6th round but Manny has experience and shouldn't struggle to adapt. Maybe Tomlinson needs some time to adapt. Hopefully not being a 1st round pick but at least we have some luxury now to have guys compete. There's no guarantee had we got Den 2015 3rd round pick that that player would provide depth or impact. Proven NFL caliber fill-in starter/depth guy over a possible 3rd round rookie. it's a plus move.

He's going to need to be patient and see how tomorrow unfolds. If he gets some idea of trading up he'd need this years 2nd round #54 and 3rd round #88 to get into range of 37-39 Nyj, Was, Chi. As depleted as Was is, they may bite but I damn for sure don't want to give up this years 2nd and 3rd round picks for a RB and I love Coleman. If we got that extra 3rd from Den, then I'd say yes, go ahead and do it. not now. Give up #54 and both of those 5th rd picks will only move you up to #49. it's a wait and see approach tomorrow and see how it unfolds for the first 15 picks

Based on the fact we have road graders now, it looks like we will be more of a ground and pound run game. Nothing fancy and just plod ahead for 4 to 5 yards per carry. That means a guy like Zenner might suffice later on.

I was serious Stomp that seeing Ray fall like it was good foresight. Denver thought as much, right ?

Makes sense to ground and pound when we have 30% of our salary cap tied into the QB and 2 WR's

By the way, looks like Ramirez comes with a $3 mil cap hit. Could be wrong.

we should only be on the hook for Ramirez base salary of 1.4M not the 1.6M that looks like deferred money owed by the Broncos that was already earned. maybe that 1.6M is in possible earned incentives for games started.

1.4M is owed in base salary. here's the scoop on the other 1.6M in incentives

Manny Ramirez New Contract Worth Up To 6 Million With Broncos - Over the Cap

Broncos’ Center Manny Ramirez signed a two year extension two days ago and we can now report the full numbers on the contract. Per a league source Ramirez’ contract is worth $3.15 million in base value with potential to earn an additional $2.85 million in incentives over the life of the contract.

Ramirez’ base salary remains intact in 2013 and he also received a $500,000 signing bonus. The signing bonus is the only portion of the contract that is guaranteed, though his salary for the current season is essentially guaranteed anyway. Ramirez now has a playtime incentive worth $250,000 in 2013. His base salary in 2014 will be $1.25 million and he can earn an additional $1 million in playtime incentives. In 2015 Ramirez’ base salary will be $1.4 million and the incentive rises to $1.6 million.

BB_72; so Ramirez can earn approx. a $100k in incentives per regular season game

Well, there was the "Don't be surprised to be STUNNED, SHOCKED and IN AWE". Lions trading #23 for #28, a proven vet C/G and then drafting a OG.

I'll never complain about drafting an offensive lineman, but I think it's fair to say that BPA was not the priority here.
