Looking into my crystal ball signing Golladay(Tag or otherwise) or Okwara would screw us over for the next few years cash wise. If they do that its just more of the same and we'll be calling for their heads by the end of the 22 season or sooner, but will probably have to wait anther couple of years for the actual firing.

What I think should happen is we let all of our big name FAs walk Golladay, Okwara, Jones and considering their age/positional cost this would be a good time to move on from Muhlbach/Prater. With the reduced cap I expect to see some real bargains in FA, but probably not until after the first wave of signings.

Coaching, based on the guys we got Campbell/Lynn/Goff i'm hoping for some sort of cut blocking offensive scheme that relies on screens and a heavy dose of run game. Can't really expect much on the defensive side pretty much everyone needs to be replaced plus we'll be dealing with the BQ buddy contracts for at least 2 seasons.

Aside from Okudah we have 10 defensive starters that need to be replaced so yeah and Okudah is only getting a pass because even the best corners usually look terrible their first few seasons.

I'm kind of giving him a pass for last year on the sole purpose that last off-season was non-existent for rookie mini-camp, OTA's, real training camp and no pre-season games etc.

What can you learn from a zoom class ?

My confidence with him becoming a legit CB went right out the window.

Based on the expected one-gapping 3-3-5 defensive scheme the Lions are expected to deploy, Ingram would fill the JACK linebacker role, where his pass-rushing prowess could be featured.

I wouldnt go that far. We need a lot of pieces sure, but I think we have 1 DL and 1LB that are salvageable starters along with both CBs and 1 safety. The rest are backups.

I wouldn't want him now no matter how much money they had available in cap space with the way this defense sits devoid of talent. It'd be a wasted signing.

It'll take 2-3 drafts just to fix the defense alone and until that gets fixed any money spent on offense in FA is all for nothing.

I am on the fence with Okwara. He wants a big contract and he is just a designated pass rusher. His run defense may be the worst in the league.
