1 hit through 5. It's as if they have no bats on the team.

Who would have predicted this team would be this bad at the dish?
France is 4 for his last 42 with Arod hitting .216 in the lead off spot… nothing will change, unless those two at the top of the order can be productive, consistently. Specifically, Arod. You can’t have a .285 on base percentage in the lead off spot.

so strike 3 becomes 2 runs. baseball sucks.

Yea that blown call was the ball game as things turned out.

I was on the fence about robo umps this past 1-2 years as baseball rules - change with the times...

I think I may be OK with auto called balls and strikes with whatever technology pulls it off. Provided it is 99.99% accurate ( for both sides )

I blame the coaching (or lack thereof). None of the hitters look like they have a game plan for approaching specific pitchers and there is no adjustments from AB to AB.

Something is missing.

France is still chasing heaters up out of the zone last night just like he has for the past 3 weeks.

Absolute zero discipline ( or coaching ) to get him to lay off balls clearly too high to hit that are obvious not strikes.
On rare occasion he actually makes contact on 1 of them it is a can of corn pop up to the outfielder.

he has 1 single HR and is on pace to hit around 8-9 for the season ( laughable for a 1b who has below par fielding skills )
I think he is tradeable as he is NOT a DH and obvious is a liability at 1b and at the plate. Bat him 9th if you want he is near automatic out at this point and a complete slug on the base path. 1 career stolen base ( hahahaha )

BINGO

Any pitcher or pitching coach can watch tape of our anemic line up and crucify it every cycle thru it.
Same ole' batters making the same ole mistakes game after game after game.

We have base running blunders every single game.

I can watch other ball games and rarely if ever do I see other teams doing the dumb shit the Mariners do on the base paths

One out, bases loaded, bottom of the first. Three strikeouts and they strand the baserunners. Go figure.

Can’t leave that opportunity out there with Gonzales on the mound.

This series is not just over...It's JULIOVER.

It's infuriating getting this close to .500 only to chicken out and disappoint everyone again. I'd be firing staff on the spot after that!

But no, Dipoto still has that boner for Servais, and that's how it's gonna be.

And I just got a look at team batting averages...

DEAD LAST IN THE MAJORS, a few points behind Cleveland.

...............yeah, more rebuilding on the horizon.

Back to just hoping they don't get shutout on any given night. The loss is already assumed.

So is the possible series sweep.

Might as well; we're not doing anything else at the moment.

Oh, they tied it up now?

Oh sure, that's fine, but we remember the LAST time we tied up with Houston, don't we?

Okay, okay...what the hell?

WHY are we suddenly known for late theatrics?! It's not the first surge we saw when things looked impossible this season.

What an inning. Seven runs in the bottom of the eighth. Nine straight at bats with two outs.
