So, the final rosters must be in by 3pm on Wednesday, meaning that the next 2 days will be filled with speculation and crossed fingers as players attempt to make their way through waivers. So, the question is, what do you think your teams opening night roster will look like?

Ballard is going to be seeing time with Alberts, no? I think they want to nurse him back to 100% health with a decrease in playing time early in the year


Being around Keith Ballard hasn't hurt any, either. While Ballard has been slowed by his recovery from offseason surgery that nobody seemed to know about, they've been friends for a long while, having come from the same state and having played against each other in the USHL for a couple of years. Tuesday night they were partners with Ballard, doing a commendable if, perhaps, a little cautious job playing the right side as a left-handed shot, and the pairing put in a little over 17 minutes apiece. That's slightly more than normal for Alberts, low for Ballard, but should they stay together doubtless that would adjust as the latter's conditioning improved.

I see the Leafs have assigned Nazem Kadri to the Marlies...It's tough to get out of Ron Wilson's doghouse (just ask Patrick Marleau). Trouble is, Wilson is BFF with Burkie.

Mike Gillis' nephew (Matt Pelech) has been assigned to Abbotsford (along with Cam Cunning). Pelech needs to clear waivers, though (hopefully, he will, even though he didn't do much in the pre-season for the Flames).

Pix, i heard shoulder, and Bourque alluded to it on the radio broadcast yesterday. Sort of threw a hint, "hope it's not a shoulder." Just a hunch on my part though. I hope it's nothing serious. That 3rd line of Asham, Cooke and Talbot will be fun to watch.

/I think Kennedy will be in the lineup when there will be no use for Godard to play. You have to dress Godard against, Philly, NYR, etc...
