How soon will Bernier be the #1 goalie for the Kings? Is Midseason a good guess?

It is hard to say. Bernier just signed a two year extention for 1.25 average.

Terry Murray is loyal to a flaw. He has stated Quick is the #1 this year and will stay with him until he has to change. I think Bernier won't be the #1 until next season unless something (like and injury) comes up.

I was looking at the waiver order and Nashville is 20th. Ersberg may not drop that far. He is a good back up at a good price with a short contract. I think some team may want him. If not Sweden will get a loaner.

I'd be absolutely floored if he made it through...too many teams that would love/need a cheap option like him on their roster.

Pix, i heard shoulder, and Bourque alluded to it on the radio broadcast yesterday. Sort of threw a hint, "hope it's not a shoulder." Just a hunch on my part though. I hope it's nothing serious. That 3rd line of Asham, Cooke and Talbot will be fun to watch.

/I think Kennedy will be in the lineup when there will be no use for Godard to play. You have to dress Godard against, Philly, NYR, etc...

When Asham is healthy enough to be in the line-up, TK will have played his last game in a Pens uniform. If/when Staal returns to the line-up, Talbot will have played his last game in the Pens uniform (unless other injuries plague the Pens). Letestu and Tangradi are here to stay.

I'll just agree to disagree on the Talbot thing. He's on the last year of his contract, and I highly doubt they drop him that quick into the season. Tangradi (unless his play is too good to disregard) has a 2-way contract that still allows him to avoid waivers, and I can nearly guarantee the organization would rather than option than to trade a player that is important to the locker room. I just don't see it happening. Obviously this is contingent on his play through the first parts of the season, but as of now, I can't see it going down. On the other hand, I agree about TK. He's done for the most part (save any major injuries).

I am going out on the limb regarding Talbot I know. My thinking is, Tangardi and Talbot play entirely different styles. For PP purposes, Tangradi will be the big body in front of the net. We have no one else to perform that role. If Tangradi plays badly for whatever reason, he'll get sent down. But then Jeffery will be called up to take his place. The Pens are lacking a top six winger, and Talbot is not that winger. Letestu and Comrie will be the 3rd/ 4th line centers. If the team is fully healthy, I just do not see where talbot can fit in with the Pens. Also, he is on his last year of his contract, I would rather trade him for a draft pick than letting him go for nothing during the off season. LikeI have stated in other threads, I also see this happening... Goligoski being traded this year (with Talbot I am thinking). Despres will be on the Penguins team next year, and right now, the Pens have 6 defenseman already signed for next year, they have to open up a roster spot.

EDIT: Rethinking the Gogo situation, he may be a draft day/ off season casuality rather than during the season... but the Pens will have to open up a roster for next season somehow.

And as much as I would hate Talbot being traded, I just see no way around it, if the Pens are fully healthy.

I can see where you're coming from on the Gogo thing...but he's been great this preseason.

Also, Brent Sutter has been waived by the Flames - No nepotism here.

Thanks. Well looks like the Rangers have their starting roster now.

I heard the Rags kicked tires on Shane OBrien but were worried about how he and the NYC nightlife would mesh ... lol way to almost kill your pro hockey career SOB

Interesting...I could see Meech, Maltby, or Kennedy being picked up.

Hutchinson and Craig put through waivers for the Pens. I highly doubt anyone takes them on. Apparently Luca Caputi was also put on waivers from Toronto (he may tempt some people). Pens are also leaning more towards sending Despres back to Juniors because he needs the playing time (reportedly). I think that's the best idea right now.

lol. rough blow to the ego for sure.
Buffalo drops him after arb ruling "fuck you, you ain't worth THAT!"
Rags sign him to a lower amount, then "fuck you, you ain't worth THAT!"

another note I find rather amusing:
Nazem Kadri doesn't make the Leafs for the 2nd year running,
and his face is featured on some of the Leafs' season tickets anyways.
It's all about the marketing!

/no seriously, we have a Monster in net!
