Lester sucks, Royals pummel Yankees and Kraft feels duped.

Let's just agree that most great owners wouldn't be as worried about their own or teams image, and not take the public for idiots

"it's not our fucking problem this kid decided to start shooting mother fuckers, thats why we released this mother fucker as soon as we heard"

That's mostly the opinion around the NFL, no need for the damage control

Well, when your team is the face of the NFL, you have to go to extra lengths.

The team hasn't been more successful than any by making monumental errors in financial judgement, especially after getting bit 10 seconds earlier by the Giambi deal, unless they knew about him too now?

I'll go with that

If one thing isn't blatently obvious to you now, it never will be. They yankees didn't care he was a juicer, perhaps they thought "well...he's gotten away with it this long..he'll likely get away with it for a few more years"

and to their credit? He hasn't failed a drug test since signing that contract..but...based on what WE know now? They had to know then...or their a bunch of incompetent shlubs...

It was known...it wasn't public knowledge...but it was at a minimum widely suspected...and I have a hard time believing the yankees would hire anyone to their training staff incapable of figuring that out...did they just take an ad out on craig's list or something?

"trainer needed for spoiled egomaniacs, 1-800-NY-Honor, ask for Brian"

So the Yankees invested 10 years in a player they knew they would get 5 max production from?

Makes a lotta sense

Yeah, he wasn't a known juicer

If he was, the Yankees would have signed him to half those years, simple logic

That may just mean they didn't think he would be dumb enough to get caught..

Doesn't mean they did not know.. Why would they care if he cheated if they thought he could easily evade?

Maybe not knew as in 100% fact...but highly suspected at the time is still within the realm that makes sense..

Cashman wasn't the one that pushed this Contract, right?

so why murder a guy (too soon?) for using the wrong word?

other than hammer, most of you harping on this are doing it to bash rock and down

hammer is doing it because his dad loves the celtics and he had his ass handed to him about worthy >> russell

He's got a legacy to protect, if you have to lie even to fucking "dupe" your own fans. So be it. I don't care really. Who wouldnt in his situation? Maybe Mark Cuban, who would say, "thats right fuck face"?

That does it...

Kraft is full of shit about being duped...

At least Jerruh Jones would admit to taking a chance on a questionable character and be honest about it when the shit didn't work out...

IMO, dude has been money during this entire debacle..

He can start repairing what's left of his credibility by

a.) immediately shutting the fuck up until the day he dies,
b.) stop carousing with twenty-something women while shedding tears for the cameras at the mere mention of your barely-cold dead wife's name, and
c.) give back the $50,000 Aaron Hernandez bought his silence with.

After the more pressing issues, we can get down to detail. But those will do for now.

exactly, who gives a shit

he's an emotional guy, kraft, he mingles with his players

maybe he felt personally duped and the "we" was the wrong wrong word, not "duped"

They saw how Bonds was doing well in his 40's...why would they not think the same of A-ROD?

Excellent. Totally fine with that

And if he did land on the Sox, I know Down would be on the other side of this debate, so it's not worth any more time

Where down wouldn't be.

"the red sox were duped!!!!! I know you showed me proof they knew 2 years before they signed him...but they never saw it coming!!!"

No, but that's not the point.

Him saying he was "duped" is absurd. He knew damn well who he was. HE WAS IN A FUCKING GANG!!!

He's obviously not the only owner who employs known gang members, but that's not the point either.

He's trying to act like an innocent victim in all of this when he knew exactly what a piece of shit Hernandez is/was.

And the defense of Kraft in this case is hilarious.

No, he hasn't

We all found it hilarious he claimed to be duped and it's been debated back and forth on whether he was or not.

It's not about "getting away with it"

The gigantic elephant you are ignoring is that by time the Yankees signed him, every outed case of steroid use had proven to break down physically, and in his effectiveness as a player, Giambi, their own player being exhibit A

So what you are suggesting is that the Yankees made that investment KNOWING it would be a bad investment, and I will never buy that, it just doesn't make a lick of business sense

No...they were banking on his rampant steroid use would hold him together....

Steroids don't typically end a players career early...they tended to extend their primes longer...Yankees wanted that HR record back in pin stripes...they wanted to win at all costs...and took a gamble on Arod because if they lost him? 2009 doesn't happen.
