Lee had an MRI and it was negative. But an elbow strain is still scary. We have zilch to call up.

Yea we need this like a hole in the naggen. Again, our bullpen has no margin of error. Both Lee and Hamels are beginning to show glimpses of aging and similar characteristics that Halladay exhibited when he began his death spiral.

Actually Biddle has had a couple good starts in a row so maybe he'll get a shot. The only thing is he pitched last night so he wouldn't be available for a few days and I think Lee's spot is coming up.

biddle would be a great choice, but I don't see that happening. My guess is that they go with manship and they bring up another reliever. Logical choice would be giles, but they probably would go to their shuttle bus and bring up defratus or rosenburg.

That is great! I Hope they start him in right and move Byrd to center. Ruf is just starting to find his swing and bench rot would waste his progression. Also Pettibone was placed on the DL so a 5th starter is up in the air.

They should call up Greg Smith since he has good control. Then they could send Biddle to the Iron Pigs and let him get triple A exposure. IMO.

they won't call up biddle. shit, they won't even promote him! i'm interested in seeing david buchanan. he just turned 25 last week. he's had a fairly decent minor league career. since being promoted to AAA last year, he's gone 9-3 with an era around 3.50. overall he's done a nice job throughout his minor league career. doesn't strike a lot of guys out though.. so i guess that would be a big problem.

the player i like the most, adam morgan, has been injured for a long time and probably wouldn't even be fully ready until next year.

Without Lee or someone who can fill his shoes, the Phillies are dead. If he comes back in two weeks, how can he pitch like the Lee we all know - the guy can throw 120 times in a game. I see a season ending operation in the near future. Hope I'm dead wrong.

I was thinking the same thing jvett. Lee I think has entered into that injury window that has a Halladay type ending written all over it. These guys are just getting old and the body can only take so much pounding before it quits.

Yeah, Retro, that would be too bad especially since the hitting seems to have come back and younger guys are starting to come through. In a worse case scenario we'd have to get someone via a trade front or from the minors. Too bad that Pettibone came up with a sore shoulder last friday. I wonder if Doc is really done. lol.

They said his injury appears minor, but then they all start that way. I'm hoping they can pick up the offense a little.

Ah, I was thinking Holladay and of course he is retired but I am sure Amaro has thought about re-signing him.
