it makes so much more sense.
- cap wise, for both clubs
- heart is in Edm... going to Calgary is all sorts of wrong (Steve Smith)
- Smyth can take mentor role with the young'uns in Edm. not so in CGY.
- much better chance of playing the Worlds if he's on Edm. And that's where he truly shines

He doesn't seem like he'd be a good fit in Calgary, not sure what his role would be there. Edmonton would make a lot more sense. It never felt right when he left Edmonton so it would be a nice reunion, and they desperately need some quality verteran leadership.
