I can honestly say I've never left a sporting event early. Even when my team is getting it's butt kicked.
Inexcusable for those fans. A regular season game, fine, whatever. But an an elimination game in the Finals? I totally agree with what Bosh said.
I don't disagree that they SHOULD stay. I just think that decision should be their own. Unless Bosh or the Heat gave them complimentary tickets, I guess I don't see why they should have to make excuses to anyone. They bought the tickets and are entitled to leave whenever they want, whether we would do the same or not. They aren't prisonners that need to stay until the final buzzer. I just don't see why after a great win he feels the need to alienate some of his fans (i.e. some of the people who fund his ridiculous salary). It's not like they threw trash on the court or caused a scene or anything. Security didn't let them back in when they wanted back in, and rightfully not. That was their loss. He should just leave it at that. Or maybe look at it more positively and thank the fans who did stay with them when it looked like it was over.
Lebron is hitting his jumpers right now... gonna be another close one tonight.
(And I don't think anyone is leaving early tonight )
Wade is having a solid game, too.
Leonard is the only guy who's really shown up for San Antonio. Parker, Duncan, and Ginobli have contributed at points, but they've been inconsistent. Green has been brutal.
Battier's been good for the Heat, but Allen and Bosh have been pretty bad.
Bosh's defense has been solid though. He's giving Duncan fits this 4th quarter.
He played a great game tonight for sure. I think he's awfully full of himself, but there's no denying that he's the best player in the NBA.
I can't disagree with your last point at all, nor do I disagree with those fans having a right to do what they want.
But I think it's fine if a team member, the management, or other fans want to criticize them for it. The fans are part of the game. Noise motivates and intimidates. People walking out demotivates. I find it shameful in the finals.
Agree to disagree, but well argued, sir.
He's a great teammate (ask anyone in Cleveland or Miami), a great leader, and he keeps his nose clean. He gets way more "heat" than he deserves because of one press conference.
I'm happy for him. He's going to go down as one of the 3 or 4 best of all-time.
