He got smashed by the receiver, seemed to get very excited then just dropped on the ground :(
I dont think it has to do with the hit. (dont know obviously) But I think this is a medical condition. if I had to guess.

Yep, not much to say now but hope he recovers. That was awful.

Saw the video on Twitter. Looked like his chest got impacted hard.

i saw this in hockey once when a player got a puck right to the chest. His heart stopped and they did cpr to get it going again. He returned back to the NHL after a medical checkout. But I think it was a month or so of checking on him. I think his name was Chris Pronger or something

The location and force of the hit could have triggered a cardio-event. Now if he had a known or unknown heart ailment the traumatic force can make the episode more likely.

It was a big hit in real time. For obvious reasons there have been very few replays.

Wow, how do you recover from something like this? For both teams.

Someone reminded me of Hank Gathers… very similar collapse.

I'm around this all the time, so maybe I've lost that shock and horror factor. But this is the type that they usually get back if it was an arrest. Unless it was something truly catastrophic like a perforated aorta or something. But it looked like they had already got him back on the field and just on O2 not bagging. He'll probably be fine.

Not too long ago one of our ER docs was watching his high school son play basketball game and one of the players on the other team collapsed and went into cardiac arrest. I think he was back at practice like 2 weeks later. Fingers crossed that this is like that
