Here's the thing - we all operated under the assumption that there wasn't a rule already in place. There is!

Now the league is changing the rule(s).

Part G of the competitive rules for cancelled games already lays out what happens if a game is cancelled, and how standings are calculated. NFL is not following what is already written down.

If it would have been the Steelers and not the Bengals, the Steelers would have said, "What? do you forfeit? fine, we'll take the win , yo boy will be ok, we gladiators here, people get hurt, this game ain't for the week."

of course, they'd all end up in he11 I guess. with a big ol' pitch fork in the you know what.

This is Katie's point that she is bringing to the owners today. From a legal sense, Katie is 100% correct - You are changing a rule in the middle of the season that punishes one team in favor of another. This shouldn't happen.

the only fair way to do it is to insert another week before the playoffs for this as a feature game.

WC weekend would just start on 20-22nd instead of 13-15th

we can always cancel or postpone pro-bowl, it stinks anyway.

maybe in the future they need to plan on having a "make up" week. Lots of Rec leagues and School leagues do that in various sports. In general, football games are never cancelled, you can play in a blizzard, tsunami, tornado, etc. but times are changing.

Let's just win this damn game and root for the Bills to lose, and the Chiefs to win. This will solve the issues.

1. We outright win the division and no coin toss is needed.
2. We leap past the Bills and take the #2 seed. This insures that if we have to play each other in the playoffs in round 2, that the game takes place in Cincinnati, a rematch of Monday night.
3. We no longer play Baltimore in round 1 of the playoffs, as we will be hosting the Patriots, and the Bills and Ravens can duke it out.

This is the EXACT scenario we need to hope for right now. No other scenario fixes us from getting FUCKED.

Bengals beat the top 2 seeds on the road to make the SB last year. They can do it again if need be. It's a HOF QB and the most talented skill players in the league
