Since Hextall held off on making any deals this week, I am sure that he was trying to offer the players on the team the benefit of participating in the Stadium Series game....the question becomes...

I would not be shocked if G is brought up in some package? I start to wonder about his leadership at times. It almost has the feel of Carter and Richards when they were here. Just can't get over that hump. I think the talent is there, but can't pinpoint what it is exactly? Maybe a trade can bring us the missing pieces?

but that might be optimistic.

Streit for Filppula and a 4th.

5 mill more on the cap next season. BUT...could be that the Flyers just don't protect Filppula at the expansion which will mean they can protect one of their prospects.

If we buy him out I am pretty sure we still carry some dead cap while Streit's number would have been completely off the books. I was kind of hoping Weise would be our expansion casualty.

Filpula's contract is a bit much....but, if not chosen he will at least give us a legitimate top 9 forward who can be a 2nd line center or play wing.

And it is only for the one year.

That buys a year for Rubstov to develop.

As for Weise, he was a complete mistake. Absolutely expose him at the expansion draft. He has three more seasons at 2.35 and produces less than VandeVelde .... Shame, he looked like he should work, or at least be what the roster needed.
